US Open, Merion Golf Club, Pennsylvania, par 70
BRUCE ROBERTSON has posted golf tips in the past and is a knowledgable punter. You may remember him as a losing semi-finalists in the tipster contest when he lost to Craig Alves who landed a massive gamble.
We've asked Bruce to post his thoughts on the second Major of the season, the US Open, and here's what he's on.
Weather: Rain forecast on Thursday and the East course is already very wet. Two holes on The West Course have been prepared as an emergency
Qualities: Patience is the key to winning a US Open as the courses are set up to be really challenging. Accuracy will also be required with fairways around 25 yards wide, surrounded by thick rough and proper bunkers
TV: No doubt a lot of coverage of the Woods, Scott and McIlroy 3-ball on Thursday and Friday.
The course has a variety of holes from a par 3 at 115 yards to a par 5 at 628 yards. Players have tweeted that the winning score will be around 10 under this year – we will see!
Watch out for the wicker bowls rather than flags, a church next to the sixth tee and a two-tee start from 1 and 11.
No.1 pick Graeme McDowell 25-1
Loves the tough test of a US Open and has the temperament to master the conditions. Never out of the top 20 in the last four years, including the win at Pebble Beach.
He is top for driving accuracy and has significantly improved his short game. I expect G-Mac to be in contention again on Sunday.
No.2 pick Phil Mickelson 25-1
Almost won last week finishing with a tap-in birdie to challenge Harris English and has good current form.
He is desperate to add a US Open to his impressive list of career wins – he has been very close before on a number of occasions. Expect another good performance from Lefty this week.
No.3 pick Matt Kuchar 25-1
Won for me at The Memorial a couple of weeks ago and I am backing him again. He leads the GIR stats and has really improved his putting.
A form player who has a good US Open record (6,14,27), Koooch could well land his first major at Merion.
No.4 pick Kevin Streelman 125-1
A player I rate really highly and should go well at big odds. Already won in Tampa this year and is a solid, accurate player.
He is ninth for scoring average and has the required game for a high finish in a US Open.

Cheers for the info Bruce 2 of my selections in their including Streelman at 125/1 :)
On bet 365 some good prices for players 2 miss cut, fairways being that tight picking players with poor driving acc stats could b worth a acca.
good luck Bruce, here’s hoping for a few winners
Thursday 3 ball tip:
R Henley 13/8 v Grace and Bae
Better current form than his opponents, and more suited to US Open style courses
Think Mickelson is too short at that price given how wild he can be off the tee -especially in such a tight course – granted he is coming off the back of a good performance last week.
If it holds up as wet as is predicted then it is going to be all about keeping it tight off the tee. The slower greens will get eaten alive by guys at this level uf rain persists so they will, no doubt, compensate with nasty pin positions.
This could be cut out for a consistent ball striker like a Westwood, Bradley or Dufner especially with the long par threes as the weather may force players to hit rescue clubs on these but we will need to wait and see.
Going with those guys – with a cheeky e/w on Shawn Stefani after a great tournament last week – hopefully Westwood can putt as recently all he seems to hole each week us the one in that bloody PING advert !!
Anyone planning a bet on the US Open just noticed Jenningsbet paying 1st 7 place for EW.
