IT'S the start of the Concacaf Gold Cup quarter-finals on Saturday and Mexico look certs to make it through.

The tournament favourites have been on fire in the States with 12 goals scored in Group A and just one conceded.

Guatemala scraped into the last eight and shouldn't put up too much resistance against a side rated 1-6 by Ladbrokes to book a semi-final slot.

The 14-1 whipping boys Guatemala only progressed as one of the two best third-placed teams having failed to score against Honduras and Jamaica before beating Grenada 4-0.

Mexico should win to nil (8-11, bet365) and are 5-4 with Stan James to win by three or more.

The other game between Costa Rica and Honduras is tougher to call and a draw after 90 minutes is possible (9-4, totesport).

Costa Rica are slight favourites at 13-8 with Stan James while Honduras are 9-5 at bet365.

Honduras have looked the better side and could edge it but they might need extra time or even penalties.

Recommendation

Mexico -2

(5-4, Stan James)
