French Open betting tips: Day twelve
Iga Swiatek to beat Aryna Sabalenka (1/1)
While much of the focus is on Novak Djokovic's clash with Jannik Sinner on Friday, sports fans should make it a priority to tune into this clash on Thursday between Swiatek and Sabalenka.
While there are plenty of talented players at the top of the women's game, you would be brave to suggest these two aren't the best, and this is the first time they've met since the US Open at the back end of 2024.
Although Sabalenka won that clash en route to winning the US Open title, it's difficult to look past Swiatek's formidable record on clay and more specifically, the clay at Roland Garros. The Pole hasn't lost on the clay here since the 2021 quarter-finals and is becoming almost Nadal-like in her dominance in Paris.
Swiatek also has a superior record in the H2H against Sabalenka (8-4) and an even more imperious one on clay H2H (5-1). Yes, Sabalenka is improving on clay, but she is still a touch behind her Polish foe on this surface and in the heat of battle on Thursday, that edge could prove vital.
Coco Gauff 2-0 Lois Boisson (8/11)
Coco Gauff won't be thinking this ahead of her semi-final clash with Lois Boisson, but she does already have one foot in the final this weekend after Lois Boisson pulled off a shock victory over Mirra Andreeva in the quarter-finals.
Gauff's form over the past fortnight has been excellent, and she will give either Sabalenka or Swiatek a good match in the final, barring any major hiccups on Thursday. It's therefore no surprise that she is the huge pre-match favourite for her semi-final against Boisson with top tennis betting sites.
The talented American came through a tough match with Madison Keys in the quarter-finals, but that felt like her bogey match, and she prevailed despite going a set down. Incidentally, that was the first set that she had dropped all tournament, so all the signs are positive for her coming into this semi-final.
