PUNTERS are siding with Chelsea and Arsenal to win the Premier League according to Ladbrokes.
And more bets have been placed on promoted Leeds winning the top flight than Liverpool say the bookies.
It's time to look at the anteposts and I'll be putting up some tips later in the week.
With just a few days to go until the start of the new season Ladbrokes have revealed the most popular picks with punters to top the table come the end of the season.
Remarkably it's Chelsea and Arsenal who top the popularity charts with 40 per cent of all bets placed being on the two teams combined.
But last season's champions Liverpool have received just 9.8% of punters' backing, which is a lower figure than those that have struck bets on Leeds (10.7%).
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are clearly going for value when it comes to picking this season's Premier League winner with plenty avoiding the likes of Liverpool and Man City in favour of Chelsea, Arsenal and even Leeds.”
At the other end of the table more than one in three bets on teams being relegated have been placed on West Brom. As things stand it's Slaven Bilic's Baggies who top the charts with 35% of all bets.
Elsewhere, Leeds are the second most popular pick at 17% with Fulham close behind at 14%.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Punters clearly don't rate the chances of the three recently promoted sides with Albion, Leeds and Fulham making up a combined 66% of all relegation bets struck.”
Coral has opened betting on the first manager to leave their position in the Premier League with Crystal Palace's Roy Hodgson the 5-1 favourite. West Ham's David Moyes is second favourite at 6-1.

Chelsea's Frank Lampard can be backed at 25-1, the fourth highest odds of any manager, while it is 200-1 we go through the whole season with no departures.

“The sack race is about to begin once again and we make Roy Hodgson favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave their role this season,” said Coral's Harry Aitkenhead.

“David Moyes and Dean Smith are also frontrunners while we think Frank will be given plenty of time at Chelsea despite their lavish spending and he's an outsider to be first to go.”

Let's hear your thoughts on the anteposts and I'll add mine later in the week.
