Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Dutch second tier, and I like the look of MVV to maintain their impressive run of form away to their struggling hosts.

⚽️ Jong Utrecht vs MVV

🇳🇱 Eerste Divisie

⏰ Monday 14th November, 19:00

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Eerste Divisie table meet at the Sportcomplex
Zoudenbalch tomorrow evening as bottom-side Jong Utrecht host third-placed MVV.

It’s been a woeful season so far for Jong Utrecht, as they sit bottom of the table, collecting just six points from their opening 14 league matches. Darije Kalezić’s side were beaten 0-1 by fourth-placed Eindhoven last Monday evening, meaning they come into this fixture off the back of five successive losses. The Cathedral Citizens have registered just two clean sheets this season and possess the joint third-worst defence in the Dutch second-tier, shipping 26 goals. Jong Utrecht have failed to score in half of their league fixtures this season and boasts the division's worst attack, netting on just nine occasions.

After winning just two of their opening six league matches this season, MVV have gone on to win seven of their next eight to climb up into third in the table. The latest of those victories came in a comfortable 4-0 win at home to second-from-bottom Helmond Sport. Maurice Verberne’s side have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 14 league matches this season and are the third-highest scorers with their tally of 29. Only Willem II (17) have conceded fewer goals in the Dutch second tier than MVV (19), with just six of those coming in their previous eight matches.

Bet of the Day

Not only are these two teams at opposite ends of the table, but they come into this fixture in contrasting forms. MVV have won seven and drawn one of their previous eight league matches, and I fancy them to have too much for a Jong Utrecht side that has collected just six points all season and who have lost each of their last five league outings.

Given the contrasting form both of these sides are in, I’m more than happy to back MVV 0.0 on the Asian Handicap. This means we are given the extra security in that if the game should end in a draw, we would receive our stake back, whilst an MVV win would mean we would receive a full payout.

  • MVV 0.0 Asian Handicap
