After making it a hat trick of winners in Chicago on Sunday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me, yet again, remain in the MLS, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Minnesota United will look to keep pace with the top two in the Western Conference as they welcome sixth-placed LAFC to Allianz Field in the early hours of Thursday morning in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Eric Ramsay’s hosts have fired in 39 goals across their opening 22 encounters in the MLS this season, with 23 (59%) of them coming on home soil.
The Loons have failed to score in just one of their opening 11 MLS contests at home this term, notching on multiple occasions in seven (64%) of them – including in five of their last six – and will look to breach an LAFC defence that has kept a solitary clean sheet on their travels this campaign, shipping multiple goals in six (75%) of them.
Steve Cherundolo’s visitors have scored 35 goals across their opening 19 MLS matches, with 15 (43%) of them coming across their eight road trips.
The Black and Gold have fired in 2+ goals in 11 of their last 12 and 13 of their past 15 MLS contests – including in 7/8 (88%) of their road trips – and will look to get on the scoresheet once again against a Minnesota defence that has kept just one clean sheet across their previous seven MLS contests on home soil.

The Loons’ previous seven MLS contests in front of their supporters have averaged an eye-catching 4.14 goals per game, with six (86%) of them going Over 2.5 Goals (1-3, 4-1, 3-0, 1-1, 2-4, 3-1 & 4-1).
LAFC’s opening eight MLS road trips this campaign have averaged a whopping 4.13 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in six (75%) of them, including each of their past four (3-3, 2-2, 2-2 & 2-2).
Given the goal-scoring form both of these sides are in, coupled with their lack of clean sheets in recent months, I’m happy to have a play on there being a minimum of three goals in what promises to be an entertaining clash.
