Following on from last night's winner in the Champions League, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me drop down to the Europa League, and I’m expecting goals in Arsenal’s trip to Norway.

Bodø/Glimt vs Arsenal

🇪🇺 Europa League

⏰ Thursday 13th October, 17:45

Arsenal will look to maintain their position at the top of Group A as they travel to the Aspmyra Stadion to take on Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt.

After collecting four points from their opening two group matches, Bodø/Glimt suffered their first defeat in Group A as they lost 3-0 in North London just seven days ago. Kjetil Knutsen’s side are now lying in third position, just two points behind group leaders Arsenal, but have played a game more. Bodø does possess quite an extraordinary home record in Europe, with the Norwegians having won all 14 of their European fixtures at the Aspmyra Stadion – including notable victories over both Roma (twice) and Celtic.

Arsenal followed up their 1-2 victory in Switzerland over FC Zürich by defeating Bodø/Glimt 3-0 at The Emirates last Thursday to leave them two points above Dutch side PSV at the top of Group A. The Gunners also sit top of the Premier League table and come into this fixture after having won back-to-back matches against bitter-rivals Spurs and Liverpool by a 3-2 scoreline. Mikel Arteta’s men have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in 10/11 of their Premier League and Europa League fixtures this season but have only managed to claim four clean sheets in that time.

Bodø/Glimt vs Arsenal Match Preview

Bet of the Day

Arsenal are looking to tighten their grip on top spot in Group A but face a tough test against a Bodø/Glimt side that’s won each of their last 14 European matches at the Aspmyra Station. Both coaches are known for their attacking style of play, and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter full of goals.

Mikel Arteta’s men have been banging the goals in this season, netting at least twice in 10/11 of their Premier League and Europa League matches this season, and there’s a strong chance they’ll make the net bulge at least twice in the Arctic Circle this evening. However, given Glimt’s extraordinary record at home in Europe and that The Gunners have only registered four clean sheets this season, I reckon they’ll get on the scoresheet against a much rotated Arsenal side.
