Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the opening match in Group D, and I’m expecting the in-form Danes to have too much firepower for a Tunisia side that tend to struggle at the World Cup.

Group D gets underway on Tuesday lunchtime as potential dark-horses Denmark takes on Tunisia at the Education City Stadium.
Denmark were one of the most impressive nations in World Cup Qualifying, as they won nine of their 10 qualifiers to finish four points above second-placed Scotland. Kasper Hjulmand’s side also had a solid Nations League campaign in the summer, winning four of their six matches and finishing only a point behind group winners Croatia.
In the second round of qualification, Tunisia managed to finish top of their group, finishing two points ahead of second-placed Equatorial Guinea. The North Africans then sealed their place at the World Cup finals for the sixth time, as they scraped past Mali 1-0 on aggregate in their final World Cup playoff.

The Danes scored a whopping 39 goals across 16 World Cup Qualifiers and Nations League fixtures, netting on multiple occasions in 11 of those matches, highlighting the firepower they possess. They were also solid defensively in those matches, registering 10 clean sheets and conceding just eight goals.
Like many, I fully expect Denmark to qualify from Group D, and I’m anticipating them to make a strong start against the goal-shy Tunisians. De Rød-Hvide come into their group opener in great form, and given their record at both ends of the pitch – I’m happy to take them -1 on the Asian Handicap. This means we would receive a full payout if the Danes win by two or more goals, whilst if they win by just one, we get our stake back.
