Two teams at opposite ends of the Championship table meet at the Caledonian Stadium on Tuesday evening, as second-placed Inverness host bottom side Hamilton.
After beginning the season by winning just one of their opening five league fixtures, Inverness come into this match having won each of their next five to push them up to second place in the table, behind Partick Thistle on goal difference. The latest of those victories came on Saturday, as they defeated fellow highland side Cove Rangers 0-1 away from home – their fourth clean sheet in their last five matches. In fact, Billy Dodds’ side have the best defensive record in the Championship, letting in just nine goals and registering five clean sheets in their opening 10 league encounters.
Hamilton, on the other hand, are a side seriously struggling at the moment, with John Rankin’s side having lost each of their last four Championship matches. The most recent of those defeats came in a 1-2 loss at home to league leaders Partick Thistle, meaning they’ve now let in multiple goals in seven of their last eight league outings. Only ninth-placed Arbroath (7) have scored fewer goals in the Scottish second-tier than the eight the Accies have managed.

These two teams not only sit at opposite ends of the Scottish Championship table, but they come into this fixture in contrasting form, and it’s hard not to expect a home win here.
Billy Dodds’ hosts have won each of their last five league matches – keeping a clean sheet in four of them – and should have too much for an Accies side that has lost each of their previous four fixtures and who have the joint-worst defence and the second worst attack in the division.
