Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the near-full card in the Italian second tier, and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Two sides separated by own two points and two places in the Serie B table meet at the Arena Garibaldi tomorrow teatime, as Pisa host Ascoli in a match that has the potential to see goals.
It was a tough start to the season for Pisa, with the Tuscany-based club collecting just a solitary point from their opening four league encounters. However, since then, Luca D'Angelo’s side have gone on a 10-match unbeaten run in Serie B, earning a credible draw away at third-placed Bari on Sunday. The Nerazzurri have been victorious in each of their previous three matches as hosts, scoring 10 goals in the process.
After beginning the season with a four-match unbeaten run, Ascoli hit a sticky patch in which they went on to lose three of their next four Serie B fixtures. However, Cristian Bucchi’s have since lost just one of their last seven matches, with that defeat coming against current table-toppers Frosinone. The Woodpeckers have lost just once on their travels this season and head into this fixture unbeaten in each of their last five road trips.
Bet of the Day
Pisa have found the back of the net in 10/15 of their Serie B fixtures this season, and are the second-highest scoring side in the division. 10 of their 24 goals this season have come in each of their previous three league tussles in front of their supporters, and I like the look of them adding to their goal tally against an Ascoli defence that’s registered just three clean sheets in the league this season.
Ascoli have failed to find the back of the net in just one of their previous 10 league outings, netting on multiple occasions in five of their last seven. I like the look of them also getting on the scoresheet against a Pisa defence that’s kept just three clean sheets this season and just one of their seven matches as hosts.
