Two clubs who are enduring contrasting fortunes since promotion to the Spanish second tier this season meet at the Reale Arena on Saturday night as bottom side Real Sociedad B plays host to fourth-placed FC Andorra in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Despite their lowly position, Real Sociedad B have scored 11 goals across their opening eight matches since promotion to the Spanish second tier, with seven (64%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
Ion Ansotegi’s hosts have only failed to score away at Malaga on MD2 – notching on multiple occasions in three of their last six – and will look to breach an Andorra defence that has yet to keep a clean sheet since their promotion to the Spanish Segunda.
Ibai Gomez’s visitors have scored 13 goals across their opening eight fixtures since their promotion to the Segunda, with six (46%) of them coming on their travels.
The Tricolours have only failed to score away at defensively strong Eibar in the league this season – striking 2+ goals in four of their last seven – and will be confident of breaching a Real Sociedad B defence that has failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven league outings, shipping 16 goals.

After seeing just two goals across their opening two matches of the season, Real Sociedad B’s next six have averaged a whopping 4.17 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in five (83%) of them, whilst all six (100%) have produced goals at both ends (2-2, 3-3, 1-2, 1-2, 1-1 & 2-5).
FC Andorra’s opening eight matches since promotion to the Spanish second tier have averaged 2.88 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals clicking in five of their past seven, whilst seven (88%) have seen goals at both ends (1-1, 3-1, 2-1, 0-2, 3-1, 1-1, 2-1 & 1-2).
These two clubs have kept a solitary shutout between them this season, whilst failing to score on just two occasions, and that should lead us to a high-scoring encounter in the Basque Country on Saturday night.
