THERE'S a big lower-league card in England with Brighton v Newcastle being the standout encounter.
Leaders Brighton face second-placed Newcastle with both sides desperate for automatic promotion but knowing Huddersfield and Leeds are chasing hard.
The Seagulls' form is better – losing one out of 19 home games and two defeats in 27. Newcastle are unbeaten in eight but have wobbled a bit with three draws in their last six including a fightback from 2-0 down to hold lowly Bristol City 2-2 at St James' Park on Saturday.
Brighton, meanwhile, were impressive as they routed Reading 3-0 and they're 8-5 at bet365 to win. It's worth a look as their title rivals will miss top scorer Dwight Gayle was well as midfielder Isaac Hayden.
A case can be made for a draw to suit both teams especially with Newcastle travelling to Huddersfield on Saturday. But if I had to pick a winner it would be Brighton and they are 2-5 at BetStars not to lose.
The other games between Aston Villa v Bristol City and Blackburn v Derby are tough to call. Villa ended a run of seven defeats by beating Derby at the weekend but City will travel with confidence having played so well at Newcastle. Could be one for both to score.
Derby will be looking to bounce back against a Rovers side now managed by Tony Mowbray and who started with a 1-1 draw at Burton. County will be looking to win but may have to settle for a point.
In League One Lee Clark has started with two wins at Bury and it could be three in a row when Coventry visit. The ex-Killie's gaffer's side are 13-10 at bet365 and consider James Vaughan – eight in six games – to score at 11-8 with Skybet.
Millwall drew 0-0 for the second successive game after knocking Leicester out of the FA Cup but missed two penalties at Oldham. They have now kept eight clean sheets in a row and have a chance to get back on track at home to Peterborough. The Lions are 21-10 at bet365 and McBookie to win to nil.
In League Two best bets are Stevenage at home to Orient, Portsmouth at home to Morecambe and Plymouth at home to Notts County.
Bets to Consider
Brighton not to lose
Vaughan (Bury) to score
Millwall to win to nil
