WHEN you see Liverpool leaving the likes of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres at home, it tells you how high a priority the Europa League is for some clubs.

It should also act as a warning for punters not to go too crazy on the accers and try to check latest teams news before having a bet. Napoli will be well backed at evens for Liverpool's visit but the Italians too may be concentrating on the league so it could well be a draw. Roy Hodgson knows how to shut out teams – he proved it when taking Fulham to last season's final – so without his creative sparks he may be happy to keep it clean.

England's other Europa League survivors are at the other end of the EPL and everything is rosy in Roberto Mancini's expensive garden.

Man City are pushing Chelsea at the top of the table and with confidence sky high they should see off Lech Poznan at Eastlands with plenty to spare.
City are a best 2-7 with boylesports while Carlos Tevez, so good against Blackpool at the weekend, is 11-4 with William Hill to net first.

Spanish World Cup winner David Silva scored a beauty at Bloomfield Road and is 7-4 with bet365 to net at any time.

Elsewhere I like the look of Borussia Dortmund at home to Paris St Germain. Dortmund stayed under the radar until the weekend when Mainz's first lapse of the season saw them go top. The Germans have much more quality and won't want to disappoint a huge crowd so back them at 8-11 with Skybet.

Young Boys have impressed in Europe this season with home wins against Spurs and Getafe and should be too strong for an Odense side who were hammered 5-0 by Copenhagen at the weekend. The Swiss are 4-5 with William Hill and Paddy Power.

Atletico should also provide another home when they tackle Rosenborg whose last away outing in the Europa League resulted in a 4-0 loss at Bayer Leverkusen. Diego Forlan, 3-1 with bodog to score first, is back for the Spanish who are 4-11 with William Hill and Betfred.

Finally, stick in recent UEFA Cup winners Zenit St Petersburg who have been in sparkling form in the Russian league. Their season is nearly over so they'd love a Euro run to keep interest alive and should be way too hot for Hadjuk Split. Zenit are 2-7 at boylesports.
