JOLEON LESCOTT is odds-on to start England's Euro 2012 opener against France after Gary Cahill was forced to pull out of the squad.
Man City defender Lescott is 1-10 with Ladbrokes to partner John Terry (1-100) in central defence after Cahill suffered a double jaw fracture against Belgium.
Cahill's shock replacement Martin Kelly is 33-1 to face the French while Joe Hart, Ashley Cole, and captain Steven Gerrard look dead certs at 1-100.
Ashley Young (1-50), Glen Johnson (1-33), Scott Parker (1-25), James Milner (1-4), Theo Walcott (4-7) and Danny Welbeck (4-7) are favoured to join the starting XI.
Andy Carroll's chalked up at 5-4, followed closely by Stewart Downing (2-1) and Phil Jones (5-2) in the betting.
Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge said: “Things are going from bad to worse for Roy Hodgson and the tournament's not even started yet. His selections are starting to look dubious and now he just needs to hope and pray no more of his players are forced out.”
I’m afraid England are going to be nothing but a joke in this compo its time to fill you boots in every game the french game in particular. Martin Kelly replaces Gary cahill ???? I think you Scots are in for quite a laugh but at least there’s going to be some decent money to be made!
Phil, I didn’t fancy their chances anyway in a tough group but it just got much tougher. Gary Cahill’s a big loss as far as I’m concerned, Frank Lampard’s already gone and no Wayne Rooney for the first two games. They’ll do well to reach the last eight but sometimes sides respond well to adversity.
Its obvious now that Rio and Terry can’t play together its a poor England team but the french game should make everyone a few quid. 6/4 the french are and 100/30 to score in both half’s with paddy power. Both bets should give you a run for your money. Also paul take no notice of that Pratt I’m English thru and thru but your site gives me endless entertainment with many helpful tips. Keep up the good work.
Cheers Phil. I still don’t get it with Tony. Two out of the 16 picked are English. That’s 12.5 per cent. I’d guess out of the 900 or so entries about 50 were from England so to get two in isn’t bad.
No I don’t either its strange its a bit of laugh! But heh ho each to there own its his loss! How can you not enjoy the knowledge of so many punters!

McGart, it might last due to patriotic bets. When England win bookies usually lose so it’s one to keep an eye on.
