ANYWAY have a go at Coral's new Football Jackpot game last weekend?
I meant to have a shot but never got round to it but I was in a shop earlier and did a £1 lucky dip.
The game involves predicting 15 results to win a possible £1m jackpot. That of course is a tall order but for £1 I thought it would be worth a random line.
I was offered the chance of a shop assistant picking my teams or a computer – and I went for the latter.
This is what it gave me Everton v WBA draw, Hull to beat Norwich, Newcastle v West Ham draw, Southampton to beat Sunderland, Stoke to beat Palace, Reading to win at Blackpool, Ipswich to beat Leeds, Birmingham to win at Leicester, Inverness to win at Celtic, Hearts to beat Aberdeen, Aston Villa v Liverpool draw, Watford v Nottm Forest draw, Cardiff to beat Man City, Swansea to win at Spurs and Man United to beat Chelsea.
There are one or two in there I wouldn't have considered – but if it's 15 out of 15 the beers are on me.
My line cost £1 but you can pick more than one result for a game and stake higher. For example if you take two choices for one much it will cost £2 etc etc.
Going into joes tomorrow I’m going to commit a score a week to this! Quite fancy it :)
Lionel, someone will hit the jackpot at some point but I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t through a lucky dip. Coral tell me 80 per cent of entries last weekend were beaten by Arsenal.
seen this coupon as it was free in the paper, ladbrokes do something similar ‘millionaire coupon’ but £2 stake and 20 results, get tge 1st 5 up and whatevers been won is banked, then next 5 and so on. I would prefer the 15 one masel to £1 and go all for nothing
Mr F is there a limit on how many you can buy at once and why did you choose the computer over the assistant?
Donny, there is no limit. You can fill in as many coupons as you like or take lucky dips. I chose the computer because I’d read it would eliminate silly results such as Man Utd to lose at home to Hull.
Ah ok cool, I think that’s more chance of coming in the the lottery. Might have a few punts on the machine picks.
Mr.F,
Firstly, I’d like to thank you for all the work you put in on here, I’ve often followed Football tips and done pretty well out of them. So I am indebted to you for that.
But I’m surprised you’re chucking £ away on this coupon my friend. Coral will absolutely green up with people betting on this gimmick. £1 might not be a lot each week but as a gambler I’m sure you know it’s all about the percentages, week in week out it all adds up.
Anyway all the best,
J
Jay, sorry but £1 a week is nothing. I’ve tried it this weekend, not saying I’ll do it all the time, but for me and most people on this site £1 is nothing – it’s basically a bottle of water in the office or a bag of crisps. It’s like buying a lottery ticket.
That’s pretty much as I would see it.
But to clarify, you can’t pick your own selections? Just a choice of an assistant or comp?
Zammo, re the Coral jackpot game you can pick your own teams OR take a lucky dip. And you can also do perms but obviously the stake then increases.
@ Mr UHT
I noticed you were not selecting last night but as I was having withdrawal symptoms,so after a wee bit study I managed to pick 4 winners the only one which I was not sure about was the Portland V Salt Lake as all of thr previous games between the two had been either a 2 or an X so I did both results with the draw being correct.
