FRIDAY topped off what has been a terrific week with my French Ligue 2 games doing me proud again. It's back to home and I’ll be focusing on Clyde's resurgence to the top end of League 2 in Scotland.
Queen's Park v Clyde (3pm)
The Bully Wee make the short trip to Hampden to play a Queen's Park side who are on a horrible run of results right now which couldn't be more contrasting to how things have been going for Clyde.
Danny Lennon's side come into this off the back of 4 straight wins and showed tremendous character to come back from 2-0 down to win at Berwick last Saturday. I feel like I'm repeating myself here but I’m still really surprised they have retained last season’s 25-goal striker David Goodwillie.
He scored his 8th goal of the season last weekend and they look to have found him a strike partner who'll chip in with some goals in young French striker Abdelkarim Belmokhtar. He's scored 3 goals in his opening two games and will be looking to add to that against a confidence-shot Queen's side.
It’s no coincidence Queen's Park's run of defeats coincide with the resignation of boss Gus MacPherson who left to take a back-seat job at St Mirren. Ex-Killie and Thistle striker Mark Roberts stepped up from being No.2 but it’s been a steep learning curve as he tries to rally his troops after three defeats on the spin.
These two will be at opposite ends of the table come May and with the momentum with Clyde (plus two in-form strikers) it’s hard to oppose backing the Cumbernauld side at generous odds against.

Hibs v Hamilton (3pm)
This is an excellent opportunity for the Hibees to cut rivals Hearts' lead at the top of the SPFL to two points as they welcome struggling Hamilton.
Hibs as we all know are a tough side to beat at Easter Road and home fans have certainly been entertained in 2018. I can't see anything other than a comfortable home win here – there’s a huge gulf in quality between these sides and Hibs should manage at least 2 goals.
I've seen Hamilton play quite a few times this season and they do seem to create a lot of chances in matches, they are just very wasteful in front of goal. Hibs, however, will create a lot of chances and we should see at least three goals here.
Recommended Bet
- Hibs v Hamilton over 2.5 goals
- (4-5, Marathonbet)
As you'll know I'm a big fan of the Sky Bet specials – I just feel the prices you get on these outcomes are worth doing every week and as French Ligue 2 has already proven this season it’s worth backing for loose change at massive odds.
I like the look of both League 1 and 2 on Saturday for my usual first-half goals and over 1.5 match goals bets.
