IT'S been billed the Fight of the Century and certainly there's been the hype of the century.
Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquaio has grabbed the attention of fights more than any other contest in recent memory.
Both boxers are already legends of the ring and one reason for them finally meeting in Las Vegas is the crazy amount of money on offer to both.
I'm no boxing expert but most tipsters are siding with Mayweather, probably on points, but some reckon the younger Pac Man has a chance.
Hopefully we'll see some good comments on the fight but for me best bet looks to be boylesports' 1-1 for Mayweather to win by decision or technical decision. The action is expected to start at around 5am Sunday.
Coral predict £10 million will be wagered on the bout – loose change to the flashy Floyd – with the weight of money in favour of Mayweather.
He is 8-15 favourite to keep his unbeaten record intact while Paquiao is 7-4 to cause an upset. A stoppage for the American is 11-2 and it’s 13-8 the pair take part in a lucrative rematch in 2015.
The fight should be close and a draw or technical draw pays 16-1 while it's 3-10 it goes the distance and 12-5 that it doesn't.

Posted this last night on the sports thread, no expert but just my thoughts on the big fight.

If this was 4yrs ago I would be really getting the buzz of a big fight, however despite paying for the fight and looking forward to it, I can only see one winner.
I suspect the experts and the ex pro’s in the papers this morning will be tipping a Floyd win on points and a few romantics going for a Pac man victory. I can see a Floyd points win by 4-7 rounds on the judges cards. I do think Floyd could win this fight by stopping Manny, and at 13/2 sporting bet it is worth a small flutter whilst enjoying what hopefully is a great fight.
Manny as been waiting for this fight for years, he was knocked out clean by Marquez in what was their fourth fight and I wonder is that a sign his defences are not as good as they once were. If Manny takes the fight to Floyd I think he could get caught, and while Floyd is not a renowned KO specialist he is getting older and maybe cant just rely on his movement and reflexes not to get hit. It may force Floyd to throw more punches and that could lead to a really good scrap. I cant see a Manny win, so it is Mayweather for me likely by decision or TD at 10/11 William Hill, but I am having a few quid on Floyd causing a bit of a surprise by stopping Manny at 13/2 Sportingbet.

Pacquaio is the most succesfull boxer, hes been world champ at 8 weight divisions compared to Mayweathers 5, hes had 38 KO’s compares to Mayweathers 27, yeah hes been beaten but hes fought nearly 20 more fights than Mayweather. Any sportsman or football team etc is judged on how much theyv won at the end of the day, not how many theyv lost, and pacquaio is by far on top.
You can judge them on the fighters theyv both fought.
Cotto – Pacman put him down twice and the fight was stopped, mayweather won on points.
Hatton – Pacman KO’d him in the 2nd round, mayweather took 10 rounds.
De la Hoya – Pacman beat him up badly and the fight was stopped, mayweather won on split decision.
In my opinion Pacquiao is the better boxer, but he can be reckless and thats why hes been beaten, but i feel with his speed and talent itl be too much for mayweather and the pressure is all on mayweather.

Seen a few polls for the fight, and the majority of answers say Pacquiao by stoppage? Is that because they hate Mayweather? I know that’s my reason.

Jordan, Everyone I seen backing Manny always include the fact they hate Floyd. I just think he too good, people hate him because he is arrogant but end of the day he sells tickets. I would say Manny wont get the nod on points in Vegas and if he KO Floyd it would rank as one of the biggest shocks in Boxing.
It is the fight of the year everyone has different opinions, but for me Floyd wins on points by 4 or 5 on the judges cards, but have a feeling he may KO Manny.
Yeah that’s it chief. I think the majority probably do hate Mayweather. Manny certainly has nothing to be hated on. It’s not a fight I can put money on myself, the event is big enough. Wouldn’t mind who wins, I just hope it’s fair and that Manny actually makes him think twice (like Mosley did early in their fight). Would be good to sit him at least hit the mat.

Can someone tell me if Mayweather winning on “points or decision” at evens includes all types of decisions? Or does it just include majority, not technical etc?
I’ve taken couple poond bets on Pacquiao in the 6th and Mayweather 8th both 40/1, always too much hype in box office fights but there’s been no haye chisora talk or that in weigh ins/press conference because both respect each other, chances are mayweather on points but hopefully pacquiao wins. If it does go full 12 rounds pac mans nae chance, the judges will see to that even if he is winning. A draw wouldnae surprise me either just for the ££ being made here

It was always going to be Floyd on points, Pacquiao is half the boxer he was 6 year ago, and Floyd new it this is why he eventually made the happen. Had he not of ran away from it back then, it would of been a different outcome.
