THE Wyndham Championship is the final event on the PGA Tour ahead of the FedEx Cup playoffs that start next week.
After the drama of the US PGA Championship on Sunday the big guns such as winner Brooks Koepka, runner-up Tiger Woods, world No.1 Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy are having a week off.
That leaves Webb Simpson the pre-tournament favourite and he is justifies his position after a season where he finished top 20 in all of the Majors. He's a past winner at Sedgefield and while I'd prefer bigger odds I'm backing him to win.
This guy's got a sparkling future in the game and this could be the week he enters the winner's circle.
Niemann is fifth in strokes gained: approach the green and fifth in par-4 scoring average and both are key stats on this par-70 track.
Simpson and Niemann are my main bets but if you want a third I'd go with another of my favourites Rafa Cabrera-Bello. The Spaniard plays well at this time of year and will be looking for some high finishes with the Ryder Cup just six weeks away.
