IF you could count the TV viewers for each player today up near the top would be Japanese ace Yusaku Miyazato.
All of Japan will be glued to their screens hoping their player can contend for the Claret Jug. He finished T14 at the Irish Open a couple of weeks ago and just made the cut here before hitting a superb six-under 65 yesterday ending up minus three – six off the lead.
Today he takes on 28-year-old South African Erik van Rooyen who has been one of the stars this week at Carnoustie. He finished T4 at the Irish Open and missed the cut last week at Gullane but a 64 in the second round showed how good he is.
I like the look of the South African and think he can see off his Japanese playing partner.
Two ball Tip
- Van Rooyen to beat Miyazato (1.15pm)
- (10-11, Coral)
