RYDER CUP captain Thomas Bjorn makes his 500th European Tour at this year’s Made in Denmark competition.
Since teeing up in his first Tour event in 1986 he has won 15 times and has 94 top-10 finishes. He has also played three times in the Ryder Cup. Overall not a bad record for the Great Dane.
Alongside Bjorn at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort will be Ryder Cup vice-captain Swede Robert Karlsson, four-time European Tour winner Dane Thorbjorn Olesen and Germany’s Martin Kaymer.
The fairways are of average width and you have to stay on them as the rough can be quite brutal. Putting is going to be in important stat with putts per GIR the one to look out for.
You couldn’t say Irishman Paul Dunne has had a great season but he has finished in the top 10 three times. At the Trophee Hassan II he was beaten in a play-off by Italian Edoardo Molinari and a T6 at the Tshwane Open in South Africa but has not managed to continue that form.
However, he has Putts Per GIR of 1.715 which puts him third best on Tour and with that form on the greens I am backing him this weekend.
