THE PGA Tour rolls up to the Four Seasons Resort, Irving, Texas, for the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic which has been a host or co-host for the past 30 years.
Ace Venturer says: “Step forward Dustin Johnson whose record here is good (four top-10 finishes from six starts) and has made every cut. His lowest score is 62 on a modified par 69 course.
“Johnson is well suited to this course as long hitters thrive and you don’t have to be that accurate with wide fairways. Greens in regulation could be the important part of the game. I seem to say this often as far as Johnson is concerned but if he can cut out the stupid stuff he will be there at the end.
“Another long hitter and someone who hasn’t managed to live up to the hype this year is Brooks Koepka. His driving accuracy has been quite poor this year but with the wide fairways this might not be such a problem.
“His GIR stat is 68.57% (29th) and strokes gained:putting 0.236 (65th) so I think he’s worth a shout on this par-70 course.”
