THIS weekend sees all the action return north of the border in the Irn-Bru Scottish Football Leagues.
And after a summer of sunbathing our lower-league man Joe Wallace has been on the case to try to bring a little ray of sunshine into punters’ lives in the shape of a winning treble.
We start in the First Division and a team I couldn’t get enough of last season – Livingston.
Gary Bollan’s men charged their way to the Second Division title – and I reckon they will be looking to put on a flag party this afternoon when they host Queen of the South.
New Queens boss Gus MacPherson has faced a major rebuilding job since taking over while Livi remain largely unchanged from the side that romped to glory last season.
Take Bollan’s boys to kick off the new season by winning all three points (8-13, widely available).
Moving on to the Third Division and we focus on Peterhead’s trip to face Clyde. Despite being relegated from Division Two last season, John Sheran’s men will fancy bouncing straight back up at the first time of asking.
And after beating off SPL clubs to land striker Rory McAllister from Brechin I reckon Head will take some beating. I am taking them as the second side in my treble at 6-5 with Coral.
Staying in the Third Division and Paul Hartley’s Alloa side will also fancy their chances of winning promotion after being relegated last season.
This afternoon the Wasps have a tricky trip to face Stranraer but I reckon Alloa, with former Stair Park striker Armand One in their line-up, will have too much strength for Keith Knox’s men. Take Alloa as the third team in a lower-league treble at 13-10 with sportingbet.
