IT looks like there will be a thrilling finish to the USPGA Championship tonight with Jordan Spieth stepping up his bid to win his third Major of the season.

Ace Venturer and myself both tipped Jason Day antepost and the Aussie nearly man leads Spieth by two after an amazing finale last night.

Spieth looked out of it but birdied the three closing holes in tremendous style while Day double bogeyed the 15th,failed to birdie the par-five 16th but then birdies 17 to get back on track.

I backed Spieth at 9-2 before his birdie blitz as what could be cover but you can't rule out the next three players. Justin Rose and Branden Grace are one behind Spieth with Martin Kaymer, winner of the USPGA when it was last played at Whistling Straits in 2010, one further back.

Day is 6-4 favourite at bet365 with Spieth 15-8. I'd love to see Day finally bag a Major but the fact he goes out with Spieth is worrying as the young American knows how to get the job done and if his putter is hot he'll be tough to beat.

Ace and myself also tipped Rose each way and in fact all six of his picks made the cut although the only other one with a chance to win is Dustin Johnson.

I'll earn a return if Day, Rose or Spieth win so I'm backing Grace each way at 11-1 with BetVictor and Paddy Power. The South African is a brilliant wind player and with the weather expected to deteriorate he could earn the top-three finish needed.

I've been looking at the twoball betting and will take a chance on Johnson to beat Aussie Matt Jones. Jones was leading yesterday before a poor finish and if you haven't seen his shot from inside a hospitality tent after a wild drive then google it – it's unbelievable. He's got no Majors record and is likely to fall further back today.

JB Holmes played some unbelievable stuff last night and is the underdog to get the better of Billy Horschel. Holmes has had a decent season and can outscore his American rival.

Finally I'm on Rory McIlroy to beat Charl Schwartzel. I don't think anyone fancied the Irishman to compete on his comeback but he's looked close to his brilliant best at times.

His long game's there and the short game needs sharpened up. But he's played better each day and will be hoping to match or beat Saturday's 68.

    Is grace doing good?

Davy, he’s doing fine – good chance of second or third place. Day looks like he’ll win which is what I’d prefer after tipping him the Record and on here.
Ace of course backed him too and he’d like a place for Rose whose sitting joint fourth just now.

Davy, Grace won’t win but might place – if you read my post it was partly a cover bet as I had Day and Rose on the anteposts and had covered Spieth.
Five of the six players Ace Venturer put up on the anteposts are sitting in the top 10 and that’s good tipping.
If Dustin hadn’t started with an 8 he might have been in the mix.

Davy the advice was Grace ew anyway and that means he has to finish top 3.
The twoball treble has also landed to complete a good day.

Holmes to bt Horschel (7pm) WON
Johnson to bt Jones (7.18pm) WON
McIlroy to beat Schwartzel (6.15pm) WON

Great Treble Mr F. Looks like Day should hold to to make it a great tournament.

Hellobad, thanks. I thought Holmes was going to beat me but edged out Horschel despite a 74.
Easy for Rory and unless Johnson has another 8 he’ll take Jones.
And it looks like a winner (Day) and 3 places (Rose, Johnson and Koepka) for Ace which is good going.

Paul, it’s great to see Day win – much deserved. Unreal season for Spieth though and new world No.1.
Should be good fight between him and Rory next season.

Today’s golf tips both win. Grace finishes third so it’s an each-way return and twoball treble wins at 8-1.
Ace and myself’s 14-1 antepost tip Jason Day is a deserved champion.
Good week for Ace Venturer with three of his six tips finishing in the top five and Johnson also placing if you bet with a firm going 7 places.

Ya I am delighted he has won even if i had no money on him I would have being shouting for him. Spieth is unbelievable he never really looked out of that tournament at any stage until the very end and he wasn’t even playing his best.

Drmonkeyboy, depends what time you backed Grace. It was 3 places pre-play but that reduced to 2 at some point inplay as it always does.
