Best WTA Finals betting tips for day 6
On the final day of the group stage, we have Iga Swiatek taking on Daria Kasatkina and Coco Gauff taking on Barbora Krejcikova. Swiatek needs to win her match against Kasatkina to secure a spot in the semi-finals, while Krejcikova can still top the group with a straight-sets victory over Gauff.
Swiatek to defeat Pegula 2-0 @ 1/2
Swiatek has looked pretty rough so far at the event, however, she’s a bit lucky that she’s facing alternate Kasatkina here, who got a late call up when Jessica Pegula withdrew injured. If she wins the match, the Polish player moves on to the semi-finals.
A loss would put her in danger of not making the semi-finals, though that would happen only if Krejcikova beats Gauff which seems unlikely.
The reason why we’re backing a 2-0 win for Swiatek even though she’s looked rough so far is that Kasatkina has taken this match at the last minute.
The Russian has been sitting on the sidelines all week, and suddenly comes up against a motivated Swiatek who will be pushing for a win. It’s a matchup that generally went well for Swiatek in the past – she leads 5-1 overall including a win at the 2022 WTA Finals – so we think she’ll show up with her best tennis when it matters the most.
Gauff vs Krejcikova – under 21.5 games @ 5/6
Gauff doesn’t need to win this match but she will go for it because momentum is everything in events like these. It gives her more points and more money as well, and she seems to be cruising so far. There is a resolve in her look which we haven’t seen in a very long time.
The last time we saw it was at the US Open which she won and she seems to be playing pretty close to that level.
No sets dropped so far for Gauff; however, Krejcikova needs to win the match so we expect her to try as hard as she can. We think it will work out against her because Gauff is just too good on defence.
She’s better than Krejcikova and we think she’ll keep it simple in two sets as Krejcikova might find herself overhitting trying to break down the speedy American.
