After delivering another winner last weekend, SlipsTips shares two player-based selections ahead of Wolves’ clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 17:30)
Two sides looking to climb the Premier League table will clash when Wolverhampton Wanderers welcome Crystal Palace to Molineux on Saturday evening.
While Wolves are currently residing in the relegation zone, they showed excellent fighting spirit to come back and draw 2-2 at Brighton last weekend.
As for Palace, they claimed their first win of the season with a 1-0 success against Tottenham last Sunday, and climbed out of the bottom three in the process.
With neither team holding much appeal in the 1X2 market here, I'll instead opt for player-based selection by siding with Will Hughes to commit two or more fouls at even-money (1/1) on William Hill.
Injuries are taking their toll in the middle of the park for Palace and that should see Hughes come back into the starting XI on Saturday evening.
The Eagles midfielder has never been one to shy away from a tackle, and he is sure to be in the thick of the action under the Molineux lights.
The 29-year-old has started three of Crystal Palace’s nine Premier League games this season, committing multiple fouls on each occasion.
Hughes has also been guilty of two offences in two of his five substitute appearances this term, not to mention he received his fourth yellow card of the season when coming off the bench in last week’s win over Spurs.
With Hughes expected to be on the right side of Palace’s midfield pairing, he is likely to cross paths with Wolves' Matheus Cunha, who has drawn an average of two fouls per-game in the Premier League this season so far.
Thus, taking Hughes to tackle his way into trouble at least twice at evens (William Hill) is a price that definitely represents value.
Having successfully backed Trevoh Chalobah to commit a foul in each of Crystal Palace’s last two Premier League games, I’m more than happy to propose a play on a repeat here at 11/10 on Betfair.
The Chelsea loanee, who is also likely to come up against the aforementioned Cunha, has committed a combined total of four fouls across his first three top-flight appearances for Palace, making the above-mentioned price simply too big to ignore.
Recommended Bets
- Will Hughes To Commit 2+ Fouls – 1/1 (William Hill)
- Trevoh Chalobah To Commit 1+ Foul – 11/10 (Betfair)
Bearing in mind Will Hughes rarely plays 90 mins.
