Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

It’s finals time on the WTA and ATP Tours this Sunday, with champions being crowned in Vienna, Basel, Guangzhou and Tokyo. We’ll be focusing on the clash between Ben Shelton and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in Basel, plus the Tokyo final where Qinwen Zheng takes on Sofia Kenin. We’re confident about our tips in both, so read on to see the value we’ve found.

Here are the two tennis bets we recommend taking this Sunday:

Shelton vs Mpetschi Perricard – over 23.5 games @ 5/6

This matchup is one that we saw earlier this year at the Queen’s Club event. That match was won by the French giant with the final game tally being 22. That’s lower than this one, so why are we backing the over here?

It’s mostly due to how both have played this week. Shelton has been amazing, very tough to break and especially hard to beat. Mpetshi Perricard has surprised with his level this week, but it’s not a fluke.

He’s just been putting on a serving clinic, much like Shelton. So if we have two players that have served really well this week, then the most likely outcome for the match is the over.

Yes, the line is huge, but for a match that will likely end 7-6, 7-5 for either of these players, it’s a pretty simple play.

It’s a final, so expect both to play very risk-free tennis, and in this sort of match, the details will determine the winner. Details that might just come down to two tiebreaks.

Zheng vs Sofia Kenin – over 19.5 games @ 5/6

This might be a very odd play when you consider that Zheng is one of the best players in the world who has been in very good form lately. Kenin has been utterly horrible for much of this year, but she’s been pretty good this week.

As crazy as it is, there is a way for her to win this match, and while we ultimately don’t think it will happen, we think that she is likely to keep this somewhat close. Zheng is a very streaky player who plays superb tennis for most of the time, but she’s very vulnerable on her serve.

She’s not a player who won’t get broken ever. She will, and this is a good chance for Kenin to carve out some sort of advantage here. We think she might win a set but certainly at least keep the matchup somewhat close, hence why we’re backing the over on the games.

It’s not a complicated line to cover, so the odds make it worth it. It could finish 6-1, 6-1 as this is women’s tennis, but we think it should be good.
