Yesterday was a good day with Lough Leane doing the business having been advised at a chunky price of 9/1. Let’s see what Tuesday brings.
Yarmouth - 15:40 |
Radiant Beauty |
8/1 |
On Tuesday, I’m interested in a lightly-raced type at Yarmouth. Ahead of the 15:40 contest, a Class 5 race over one mile and two furlongs, on what is expected to be soft/good-to-soft ground, Radiant Beauty may just have more to offer than the early market has us believe.
The early betting is quite heavily focused on Millterries, who following a recent maiden win for James Fanshawe warrants plenty of respect, though her price is definitely short enough for my liking, and it’s her relatively short odds that allows the likes of Radiant Beauty to be available at a sizable price.
Trainer not to be dismissed at Yarmouth
Known more for his jumpers, Dr Richard Newland can ready one on the flat, while his record at Yarmouth should be taken seriously. The trainer hasn’t sent many to this venue, but when he has, they haven’t run badly, with three out of four at least placing. Two of those three have won, giving the trainer a 50% strike rate at the Norfolk track.
Stepping up in trip today, the filly looked ready for a greater test of stamina when finishing fifth (of 9) in a Class 4 at Pontefract last time out. This is also an easier race. Interestingly, one of the horses she beat that day has since gone on to score at Class 5 level.
Moreover, if we look at the form of her novice success at Kempton (over a mile) back in August, then it’s not difficult to assume that she can make her presence felt in a race of this nature. She seemingly won with plenty in hand that day, suggesting that she’d have more than enough in the tank for this trip, beating a few horses that are now rated clearly above anything in this field.
Ultimately, this is not the toughest assignment, and for my money, she’s dropped enough hints to suggest that she’s up to winning this sort of race. Therefore, for a trainer in form, who has an eye-catching strike rate at Yarmouth, odds of 8/1 are worth taking.
Based on a £10 level-stakes example, the Nap of the Day running profit is +£50.00 (since switching to being published here (10/09/2024) rather than on the ‘Nap of the Day' page).
