Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

Today’s tennis betting tips will once again feature action from the Stockholm Open because the best players are playing there. In the first match, we’ll be looking at a veteran continuing some solid play and upsetting a higher-ranked player.

In the second match, we’ll back an over because it seems rather likely to happen, all things considered. Stockholm plays rather quick, and holding serve is a bit easier than usual, which makes overs more likely.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

Here are our tennis tips for Thursday, October 17, with two predictions for Stockholm action.

Wawrinka to defeat Davidovich Fokina @ 1/1

Stan Wawrinka surprised a lot of people by beating Brandon Nakashima in the first round of this event. It’s not the most shocking win for Wawrinka, but it is a bit unexpected.

It certainly confirmed that he’s in rather solid form, and indoors has always been a good surface for him. Davidovich Fokina, as good as he is, doesn’t play as well indoors, even though he had a good win in the opening round.

We simply think that, with the way they’ve played recently and the way Stockholm plays, this makes for a really solid bet. The odds are rather good as well, so overall it just seems like a solid bet to make.

Davidovich Fokina is prone to throwing away matches, and Wawrinka is a player that punishes opponents like that well. They’ve never faced each other, which might help the Swiss veteran surprise him.

Lots of players tend to underestimate Wawrinka due to his age, but he’s still a capable player, and overall, we just think that he can surprise here.

Halys vs Dimitrov – over 21.5 games @ 4/6

This matchup is a rather interesting one, mostly because we have never seen it before. It reads like a very close matchup on paper, even though Dimitrov is the far better player and has had a better year.

So why do we think that this is going to be close? Well, it’s mostly because Halys is an excellent indoor player. He likes to play indoors because his serve is a major weapon, with a game mostly based around the serve.

He is solid from the baseline, but if his serve doesn’t click, he becomes pretty limited. Dimitrov is the far better player and likes to play indoors, but we think that Halys will manage to keep it close.

The conditions in Stockholm play pretty well for him, and he’s had lots of practice time recently. They also have never played before, which might make Dimitrov a bit slow to react to his opponent.

Halys generally shows up quite a bit in these types of matchups, so overall, that’s just why we think it’s a good play.
