RANGERS entertain an injury-ravaged Motherwell in their first game at Hampden Park in a league clash.
Philippe Clement's side will play at the National Stadium for an unknown length of time with Ibrox not ready after delayed construction work.
And they will have to up sticks not too far to a venue they have had plenty of experience with….but not all of it has been good.
They should be going into this with far more confidence after an unexpected draw in Poland against Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League.
Rangers were written off in plenty of quarters – not least by their own fans when the teams were announced, but they dug in and deserved the share of the spoils with the last kick of the ball.
Motherwell started their Premiership campaign with a disappointing goalless draw at home to Ross County, but boss Stuart Kettlewell has bemoaned the fact they could have up to eight players out of the clash.
So they will hardly be relishing their visit to the south side of Glasgow.
How the bookies view it: Rangers huge good things
Rangers are unsurprisingly massive favourites here with William Hill's 2/9 about as good as it gets.
Motherwell can be backed at 12/1 with Hill's too and bet365 have the draw at 6/1.
Recent head to heads: Well have form
Motherwell put the first real doubts into Rangers' heads last season with a stunning win at Ibrox at March and they all but collapsed after that.
Rangers did win the other two games without conceding a goal.
Players to watch: Dessers deserves plaudits
Cyriel Dessers has been a Marmite figure with Rangers fans because of the number of chances he missed last season, but he looked sharp against Dynamo Kyiv in midweek and grabbed that dramatic late equaliser. The Nigerian international is 10/11 with William Hill to score anytime and he should get plenty of opportunities.
Fellow Nigerian striker Moses Ebiye opened his Well account the other week against Clyde and looked a threat against Ross County last week. He is 4/1 to score anytime with Boylesports.
Predicted line-ups:
Oscar Cortes is missing through injury for Rangers and Robin Propper could make his debut.
Motherwell are missing Shane Blaney, Ross Callachan, Filip Stuparevic, Sam Nicholson, Harry Paton, Callum Slattery and John Koutroumbis, with Lennon Miller also a doubt.
Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Souttar, Propper, Yilmaz, Barron, Diomande, McCausland, Lawrence, Wright, Dessers.
Motherwell: Oxborough; O'Donnell, Casey, Gordon, McGinn, Wilson, Zdravkovski, Halliday, Miller, Robinson, Ebiye.
Anything else catch the eye?
Rangers have had plenty of criticism already this season and they have yet to really improve their strongest XI on last term.
But they could run a depleted Motherwell ragged on the wide open spaces of Hampden.
Rangers create plenty of chances and they look an excellent shout to win to nil at 23/20 with BetVictor against a side who have failed to score in their last two games.
And they can cover a handicap of minus 2 in what could be a one-sided game at 6/4 with Paddy Power.
