Switzerland will be aiming to consolidate their position at the top of Group I as they host Belarus in a European Championship qualifier on Sunday. The Swiss are yet to taste defeat in this campaign and should have too much quality for their visitors, who are finding things difficult.
Switzerland were not in action on Thursday as their clash in Israel was postponed due to the political situation in the country. As such their last fixture was back in September when they picked up a 3-0 victory over Andorra.
The Swiss have been the team to beat in Group I as they are yet to taste defeat after six matches. Murat Yakin’s men have picked up four wins in that run and can open up a four point lead at the top of the table with another victory on Sunday.
Switzerland often do their best work at home and have claimed two wins and a draw from three matches in front of their fans. They have kept clean sheets in both wins with a 3-0 victory over Israel preceding the victory over Andorra.
Belarus are unlikely to reach next year’s tournament in Germany as they currently sit eight points behind Romania in the second qualification place. They have only claimed one win in Group I and appear to only be playing for pride at the moment.
The Belarusians travel to Kybunpark off the back of a 0-0 draw with Romania last time out in the qualifiers. They struggled to create much going forward and could only muster just two attempts on target throughout the encounter.
That result highlights the major problem for Belarus as they often struggle to find their cutting edge in attack. They have now failed to score in their last three matches, two of which have come away from home.

Switzerland have won all four previous matches against Belarus without conceding a single goal. They picked up a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in March with Renato Steffen netting a hat-trick.

Switzerland have multiple attacking threats but Zeki Amdouni is their leading scorer with five goals in the qualifiers. The forward was also on target in the reverse fixture and is priced at 4/5 by Paddy Power to maintain his scoring run.
