NORWAY and Spain square off in a pivotal showdown in Euro 2024 qualifying at the Ullevaal Stadion on Sunday night.
The two nations are separated by just two points and continue to chase down Scotland at the top of Group A.
Last time out, Norway made it three wins in succession with a 4-0 victory away at Cyprus, on a night where my solitary selection landed in Larnaca.
Despite their mini-revival, Ståle Solbakken’s side now know that they must overcome Spain in Oslo on Sunday night to stay in contention for a place at next summer's showpiece.
As for Spain, they continued their surge towards the summit of the section with a somewhat controversial 2-0 win over Scotland in Seville on Thursday night.
That triumph has moved Luis de la Fuente’s side up to second spot in Group A and another success in Scandinavia on Sunday would stamp their ticket to next year's Euro's.
Outright Betting
Norway are in must-win territory but a home win is as big as 3/1 (Bet 365) while the draw can be backed at a best price of 5/2 (Bet 365).
Spain are even-money (1/1) favourites with William Hill to earn what would be their fourth consecutive victory in Group A.
Betting Angles
Spain are worthy favourites here at even-money (William Hill) and I’m more than happy to back the away team to prevail at that price.
As already alluded to, both of these teams are in need of all three points here and I suspect Spain's superior class will ultimately tell.
Luis de la Fuente’s side have hit a bit of form of late, having recorded thumping 7-1 and 6-0 wins over both Georgia and Cyprus respectively before Thursday's aforementioned 2-0 successes over Scotland.
While Norway have given themselves a glimmer of hope with a pair of wins against Cyprus ether side of beating Georgia, they have come up short in each of their two outings against the top two sides in the section so far.
Spain made light work of the Lions in 3-0 stroll to victory in March's reverse fixture, not to mention Ståle Solbakken’s side were turned over in their own backyard by group leaders Scotland back in June
With all of that in mind, I'm more than happy to back the in-form visitors to get the job done in Oslo at evens (William Hill) and seal their passage to Euro 2024 in the process.
On a similar line of reasoning to the above, I'll also go with the 11/10 on offer with Bet 365 for Spain to Score Over 1 goal on Sunday night.
La Roja have racked up 15 strikes across their last three qualifiers and they could pick apart a Norway side that will almost certainly have to throw caution to the wind at some point during this crunch clash.
This Euro 2024 match between Norway and Spain will be played on Oct 15, 2023 and kick off at 19:45. Check below for our tipsters best Norway vs Spain prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
As a Scot, I’m hoping for a draw, means Norway can’t catch us and we’ve a better chance of topping the drop.
