Netherlands enjoy home advantage in this week’s UEFA Nations League finals where they’ll bid to win the third edition of the trophy alongside tonight’s opponents Croatia, as well as Spain and Italy who meet tomorrow evening.

De Kuip, home of Feyenoord, is tonight’s venue and the home crowd will be expecting the Dutch to progress after an impressive qualification campaign where they finished unbeaten with 16 points from a possible 18.

A 4-1 win in Belgium was the most impressive result of the campaign but they rode their luck against the Welsh, winning both matches with goals in added time.

The Dutch went through 2022 without defeat until a penalty shootout loss to Argentina in the quarter-finals of the World Cup. A 4-0 defeat to France was a shock to the system back in March of this year and perhaps a timely wake-up call in Ronald Koeman’s first match of his second stint in charge.

Croatia just edged out the Danes in Group A after a disastrous start which saw them lose 3-0 at home to Austria. Back to back wins in Denmark and France proved that there’s still life left in this ageing Croatian squad which of course finished third in Qatar.

At 37, Luka Modrić is still the lynchpin in Zlatko Dalić’s squad, one of 11 players he’s picked aged 28 or over and with all that experiences to call upon they can never be written off.

Bet365 have the home side at 1/2 to qualify and 19/20 to do so inside 90 minutes. The Croatians are 6/4 to make it to Sunday’s final and 13/5 to win the match without the need for extra-time or penalties.

The Dutch boast a strong record on their own soil where they're unbeaten in 18 and that's enough for us to favour them this evening, especially with a final in their own backyard at stake. Croatia's third placed finish at the World Cup was admirable but they lived a charmed life en route to the semi finals, winning just one match – against Canada – inside 90 minutes.

After a long season, which included that winter World Cup, the more youthful legs of the Netherlands might prove crucial at this stage of the year so the 19/20 on the home win shades it.

With the transfer window opening it’s going to be interesting to see who goes where. Proven Strikers are going to be in demand Man Utd, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Psg are all desperate for a top striker to add to their ranks the only problem is there isn’t many about. Man Utd have qualified for the Champions league so will be desperate to sign Harry Kane but Madrid will have the same idea who comes out on top on that one. I backed Harry to join United a while back as i can’t see him going abroad. Mo Salah will also be in demand but Liverpool don’t need to sell him but there will be big offers for him for sure.

cant see mo leaving liverpool, not after signing that mega contract. his time to go was before that. Mo said “it wasnt all about money”, heres £300,000 a week , show me the contract.
been a few times anfield, walk on used to bring a tear to my eye, then money took over.

coz of levy i reckon harrys off to real madrid, if he goes, also for harry to keep on the spurs fans good side.

Salah earns 350,000 per week, which isn’t bad when you consider his consistency season in season out. Salah won’t leave but Madrid will try.

Mo looks after himself and does all the right things, doesn’t celebrate winning a trophy by drinking Alcohol. Grealish and co on the other hand do but they wont be playing at the top level as long as Salah.
