PARTICK THISTLE have built up some serious momentum in the SPFL play-offs and will be hoping that helps them sweep aside Ross County to seal a return to the Premiership.
The Jags smashed in 16 goals across their quarter-final and semi-final ties as they battered Queen's Park and Ayr United to continue Kris Doolan's hugely impressive start to life in the dugout,
Since taking over from Ian McCall in February, the former Firhill striker has lost just once in 17 games and will cement his status as a club legend even further if he masterminds promotion to the top flight.
But he will have to make history as no team finishing fourth in the Championship has ever negotiated three play-off ties to reach the promised land.
Doolan will be hoping Ross County are on a downer after blowing the chance to secure safety in their final league game away to Kilmarnock.
Malky Mackay's men knew a victory would keep them up but instead they crashed 3-1, with Killie's late clincher leaving me empty handed after backing the half-time draw and a one-goal winning margin.
Having finished last season in the top six, fighting against the drop is a big disappointment for the Staggies but they still have a chance to avoid disaster and will be hoping to lay down a marker in the first leg at Firhill.
How the bookies view it
Partick Thistle are 31/20 with 888Sport for a win at Firhill and that looks decent value given their home form has been excellent. Ross County are a best 7/4 at QuinnBet and the draw pays 12/5 with SkyBet.
Players to watch
Brian Graham did me a turn when I backed the Partick Thistle hitman to score in the first leg against Ayr at Firhill. He has netted four times since the play-offs began and looks good value at 11/8 with Bet365 for another here.
Jordan White went off injured for the Staggies at Killie on Sunday and it will be a big blow if the target man fails to make it. Yan Dhanda scored their goal from the spot in that game and looks County's best bet for another strike here at 4/1 with Bet365.
Anything else catch the eye?
It has been Firhill for thrills of late with an average of five goals per game in the west end of Glasgow in the play-offs. That makes over 2.5 goals appealing at 10/11 with SkyBet while Betfred price it at 4/5. Over 1.5 first-half goals has landed in four of the last five for the Jags and that pays 2/1 at SkyBet.
With so much at stake we could see a few tasty tackles and that makes cards another good option. Ross County's Jack Baldwin has six yellows and two reds this term, with Bet365 pricing him at 6/4 for another here. In the other corner, Aaron Muirhead has collected eight yellows and one red, the latest booking coming against Ayr last time out. He often gets involved in spats and seems overpriced at 13/5 with the same firm.
