Arsenal sent out a first half message last night that they're not done yet. Admittedly it was only Chelsea they were playing but their 3-1 win was enough to put them back on the top of the table and to keep Manchester City on their toes.
Tonight Pep's men welcome West Ham to the Etihad, their first of eight matches in May in what could be a historic end to the season.
The Hammers will have been pleased to see Leicester and Everton share the points on Monday but they're still only four points above the drop-zone and have a busy end to the season coming up themselves with Europa Conference League success firmly in their sights.
Their perilous league positions means they can't priotise their European adventures, although at 11/1 tonight might feel like a free hit for Davie Moyes.
City have hot top gear at just the right time and it's now 13 wins from their last 14 outings. Unsurprisingly they're just 1/5 to pick up another three points tonight so we'll need to look elsewhere for value. The half-time/full-time market provides a bit more interest at 4/6.
Erling Haaland is one goal away from Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer's record number of Premier League goals in a season. He's 7/4 to break the deadlock or 4/9 to score anytime.
If ever a 90 minutes encapsulated Liverpool‘s season it was Sunday's match against Spurs. After racing in to a 3-0 lead with all the panache of their title-winning season, they contrived to throw the lead away to a Spurs side who themselves wouldn't know consistency if it slapped them in the face, only to then salvage all three points at the death when Jota had the last, dramatic word.
Yet despite a rollercoaster of a season the Reds are still in with a slim chance of a top four finish. They've five games to play and each of them look winnable, starting tonight at home to Fulham.
Since going down 4-1 to Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp's men are unbeaten in six (W4 L2), scoring 17 in their last five. But they've also conceded 10 in that period, underlining a defensive frailty that has plagued most of their campaign.
Visitors Fulham's form has been patchy of late. There's no disgrace in losing 2-1 to City nor a narrow 1-0 defeat to in-form Villa but that late capitulation at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter-final back in March looks like it's knocked the stuffing out of their season. Their only wins since have come against hapless Leeds and struggling Everton.
The Reds are just 1/4 to win but they've not earned enough trust to be backable at that short a price and again the half-time/full-time market is more appealing with Liverpool/Liverpool at 4/5. It's a bet that's landed in seven of Liverpool's 16 league games at Anfield.
