MANCHESTER CITY and Tottenham Hotspur will both be looking to bounce back from damaging derby defeats when they lock horns in an intriguing Premier League clash at the Etihad.
It looked like the champions would claim a huge victory at Old Trafford on Saturday when Jack Grealish headed them into a second-half lead. But a hugely controversial Manchester United leveller set the stage for a 2-1 defeat as a full house of tips came up for our man Mark.
City were then hoping for Spurs to do them a favour the following day when Arsenal came calling but Antonio Conte's men turned in another poor performance as they crashed to a 2-0 loss.
That allowed the Gunners to open up an eight-point lead over Pep Guardiola's men at the top and for the first time this season City aren't favourites for the title.
The arrival of Erling Haaland this summer made Manchester City red-hot favourites to defend their crown but the Norwegian's incredible goal return has masked some unconvincing performances.
There's little margin for error now and Guardiola's side now face another tricky fixture against a team whose counter-attacking style has caused them problems in the past.
Tottenham's form has also been poor, with just three wins in their last eight matches, and fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with their slow starts to matches.
Pressure is growing on Conte but he can silence some of the doubters if he can find a way to inflict further damage on Manchester City's title hopes.
How the bookies view it
Despite their poor form, Manchester City are heavy favourites for this one at a best 4/6 with LiveScoreBet. Tottenham Hotspur are 15/2 at BetVictor while the draw pays 9/2 with Betfred.
Recent head to head
Spurs have been a bogey team for Manchester City in recent seasons, with Guardiola's side winning just two of the last seven meetings. Both matches ended in Tottenham victories last term, with a 1-0 triumph in London followed by a thrilling 3-2 win the Etihad.
Players to watch
Haaland has failed to score in his last three outings for City and will be desperate to end that mini drought here. The Norwegian is 3/4 at Unibet for anytime scorer but the odds increase to 49/20 if you back him to break the deadlock. The same firm are also offering 19/20 on Haaland to have over 1.5 shots on target and that looks worth a bet.
Dejan Kulusevski's return from injury was one of the few positives for Tottenham in that derby defeat. The Swede is a class act and looks overpriced at 11/1 with Unibet for anytime scorer.
Anything else catch the eye?
We should see goals in this game with City looking vulnerable at the back and Tottenham at their best on the counter attack. BTTS is a best 22/25 with Unibet while over 2.5 goals is even shorter at 11/20 with Betway. But backing over 1.5 first-half goals is better value as that pays 27/20 with Ladbrokes.
Cristian Romero is usually good value for a card and the Argentinian has four yellows from his last six games for club and country. The Spurs stopper is 21/10 at Unibet to pick up another card in this one.
With Tottenham likely to hit on the counter it makes them a good shout for offsides and Unibet price over 1.5 Spurs offsides at 17/20.
