Arsenal vs West Ham United

, KO: 20:00 Dec 26, 2022, Emirates Stadium
West Ham United

ARSENAL resume their quest for Premier League glory when they welcome West Ham United to the Emirates on Boxing Day night.

The Gunners' best-ever start to a top-flight season has left their fanbase daring to dream about clinching a first English crown since 2004.

Ahead of the Premier League going into hibernation, Mikel Arteta's men took maximum advantage of Manchester City's shock defeat at home to Brentford by winning 2-0 away at Wolves, on a night where my Bet Builder banked.

Arsenal will now be hoping they can pick up where they left off when they recommence their campaign against London rivals West Ham.

To date, the Hammers have struggled to reach the heights that saw them being considered as potential top-six gatecrashers in recent seasons.

In fact, David Moyes' men are heading into the second-half of the season just one point above the relegation zone following their limp 2-0 loss at home to Leicester six-weeks ago.

Outright Betting

Arsenal, who boast the only remaining 100% Premier League home record this season, enter this all-London affair as short-priced 1/2 (Bet 365) favourites.

West Ham have lost each of their last three Premier League games and the bookmakers' odds suggest that trend will continue across town, with the Irons 11/2 (William Hill) underdogs while the stalemate is an unfancied 10/3 (Bet 365).

Betting Angles

Arsenal are a touch too short at the above-mentioned price so I'll combine a home win, Over Two Arsenal Corners and West Ham to receive a card at 5/6 (Bet 365).

As already alluded to, Arsenal have been well-nigh flawless when operating at their capital headquarters this season, having claimed top honours from each of their six Premier League outings to date.

This is a stark contrast to a West Ham side who have triumphed in only four of their last 21 top-fight road trips, with two of those victories earned against teams that were relegated last season.

Given the contrasting home and away records of both teams, I'll happily back the Premier League leaders to prevail, but I'll also throw three Arsenal corners into the mix – a line the north Londoners have covered in each of their 14 top-flight fixtures this term thus far.

With table-topping Arsenal almost certain to enjoy the lion's share of possession against David Moyes' side, I'll conclude the 5/6 (Bet 365) selection with a minimum of one West Ham card.

Each of the six sides to visit the Emirates on Premier League duty this season have been carded, not to mention the Hammers have received a caution in their last five league matches away from the London Stadium.

Following an impressive World Cup showing with England at the World Cup,  I'll also have a small play on Arsenal's Bukayo Saka to either Score or Assist at 4/5 (PaddyPower).

The Gunners winger has either notched or provided a goal in 10 of his 14 Premier League appearances for this term, so the 4/5 (PaddyPower) on him to add to that tally here holds appeal.

This match between Arsenal and West Ham United will be played on Dec 26, 2022 and kick off at 20:00. Check below for our tipsters best Arsenal vs West Ham United prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
