Argentina will look to keep their World Cup hopes alive as they take on Mexico at the Lusail Iconic Stadium tomorrow evening.
Argentina arrived in Qatar as one of the favourites to go all the way following an unbeaten qualification campaign, and it looked as if they were going to make the perfect start as they led 1-0 against Saudi Arabia at halftime in their group opener. However, the Saudis produced one of the biggest World Cup shocks in modern times as two quick-fire goals at the start of the second half gave them a 1-2 win.
Mexico finished in second position, behind Canada on goal difference in CONCACAF to qualify for their eighth consecutive World Cup. El Tri began their campaign in Qatar with a 0-0 draw against Poland, in a match where goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa produced more World Cup heroics by saving Robert Lewandowski’s second-half penalty.

Despite their shock loss against Saudi Arabia, Lionel Scaloni will be fully aware that two wins from their next two matches will seal his side's place in the knockout stages, and I’m confident they can secure the first of those on Saturday evening against a Mexico side that struggle to score goals.
