Following on from yesterday’s winner in the Champions League, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me drop down to the Conference League and I reckon The Hammers will have too much firepower for their struggling hosts.

Anderlecht vs West Ham United

🇪🇺 Conference League

⏰ Thursday 6th October, 17:45

West Ham will look to maintain their 100% record in Group B as they travel to Lotto Park to take on Belgian side Anderlecht.

Anderlecht followed up their 1-0 victory over Silkeborg in their group opener, by drawing 0-0 in Romania against FCSB to leave them in second place in group B, two points behind West Ham. However, Felice Mazzu has seen his side struggle domestically this season, with them languishing in 10th position – some 14 points behind league leaders Royal Antwerp. Anderlecht come into this fixture after having lost 0-1 at home to Sporting Charleroi at the weekend, meaning they’ve lost four of their last six Jupiler Pro League fixtures.

West Ham have made a perfect start to their Conference League campaign as they followed up their 3-1 win at home to FCSB by winning 2-3 in Denmark against Silkeborg. Despite their impressive showing in Europe, David Moyes’ men have made a poor start to the Premier League season, collecting just four points from their opening seven league outings, leaving them inside the relegation zone. However, The Hammers climbed above the dreaded dotted line on Saturday evening as they defeated fellow slow-starters Wolves 2-0.

Anderlecht vs West Ham United Match Preview

Bet of the Day

Both Anderlecht and West Ham have made unbeaten starts in Group B, with The Hammers currently occupying a two-point advantage at the top. Anderlecht have made a woeful start to the season, and I’m expecting West Ham to have too much firepower for their out-of-form hosts.

David Moyes’ men recorded a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League at the weekend, which saw them climb out of the relegation zone. The Hammers have struck three goals in all four of their European fixtures this season – including in both of their group matches – and I’m backing them to score at least twice against an Anderlecht side that come into this match having lost four of their last six domestic fixtures.

  • West Ham United to Score 2+
  • Pays 11/10 (Skybet)
