The city of Manchester will stand still at 2pm this afternoon for the 188th Manchester Derby, live on Sky Sports from the Etihad Arena.

United may have won significantly more meetings between the sides – 20 in fact –  but their noisy neighbours are closing the gap and look likely to reduce the all-time deficit further today when the sides clash in the Premier League.

City's goal-machine Erling Haaland has the opportunity to set his own unique record by becoming the first player to score three consecutive home hat-tricks in the Premier League. You can have 9/1 on the Norwegian re-writing the history books yet again.

At the other end of the pitch, Ronaldo will be aiming to claim his own piece of history. He's currently on 699 club goals in a remarkable career. His Manchester Derby record is a bit patchy though; four goals and two red cards in 12 appearances. The fact that he might not be in the starting XI is reflected in the 12/5 available on him finding the net. A Ronaldo hat-trick? That's 100/1.

As for the match itself, City are clear favourites at 4/11. However, United have won three of their last four visits to the Etihad so they can't be completely discounted at 6/1.

After losing their opening two games, Erik ten Hag's side have bounced back well with wins over Liverpool, Southampton, Leicester and Arsenal. That said, if Pep's side turn up they should win. Despite the Gunners currently leading the table at the moment City remain the team they'll all need to measure up to.

There's potentially a few angles of attack to get onside with the champions. Backing them to leading at half-time and full-time pays a respectable 11/10 at SBK – something City have done in four of their seven matches so far.

A half-time Manchester City lead can be best backed on the Asian Handicap where they're 1.825 at -0.5.

A Man City win combined with over two City goals also appeals at even money. Haaland is the big game-changer here. His ability to find the back of the net virtually guarantee's goals for Guardiola's men so three or more isn't out of the question.

In Europe Atalanta catch the eye at 21/20 to win at home to Fiorentina. The Bergamo side don't have Europe to contend with this season and are unbeaten after seven in Serie A. The visitors have a trip to Tyencastle coming up this week in the Europa Conference League, but have won just one of their last nine so look vulnerable away from home today.

Super Singles

  • Man City / Man City on Half-Time / Full Time 11/10 SBK
  • Atalanta to win 21/20 SBK

Manchester City v Man Utd City win & BTTS
    Erling Haaland to score anytime
    Each Team 10+ booking points
    Bet builder @ 11/4

    Real Madrid win & BTTS @ 7/4

I believe City at home will be too strong especially with big Haaland and Real have won all 6 La Liga games so far this season and conceded in the process so sticking with that in what should also be close game.

2 x singles and the double pays 10.31/1

    Best of luck 👍

    Sandefjord vs Sarpsborg
Each team over 1.5 cards @ 5/2 (Whill)

Think the 5/2 on offer for each team to receive over 1.5 cards is pretty good value on two teams who tend to pick up a few cards and which has landed in 4 out the last 5 meetings between the pair.

    Good luck today 🤞

Got the Nap in Argentina last night but denied for the Nb/longshot…mustn’t grumble!

A few games of interest in SA tonight but I’m sticking with the NW derby for the main bets.

City rightly favourites but form and reason can very often go out of the window in derby games…not sure it will here nut I don’t think City will have it all their own way!

What do you mean no one can compete with this City team deano86????Liverpool have been competing with them for the last 6 years.

    • Deano86 2 years ago

You may have competed to a point but they’ve won it 4 out of the last 5 times , like I said United , Chelsea , arsenal , Liverpool need to pull their finger out and stop this dominance somehow!

    🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

    Bruno Lage has gone.

As I said in my post yesterday advising to get on him being the next prem manager to go.

Thank god for that. Awful manager.

No idea who will be next but my guess is Julen Lopetegui. Currently 3/1.

He nearly came to us before Nuno. But got offered the Spanish National job so took that.

    Mendes Client.

    In danger at Sevilla.

    2
    • maccathered 2 years ago

I think Sean Dyche at 10/1 excellent fit for Wolves brand of football, pretty sure he’ll put himself forward.

    • richb20806 2 years ago

      “Wolves brand of football”

      And what’s that then?

Sean Dyche is as far a fit as you’ll get.

It’ll be Lopetegui, Amorim, AVB or an unknown Portuguese manager from the Mendes Stable?

    • richb20806 2 years ago

Dyche as far from being a fit, that should read

    • maccathered 2 years ago

Oh my bad, guess they will stick with the tried and tested foreign manager.

    • richb20806 2 years ago

      Likely.

Not a great deal of choice. But the Dyche brand of football doesn’t fit in the slightest. We have some damn good players who have had no chance with Bruno and his strange ways.

Lopetegui is the likely I reckon. Not sure how I feel but he’s an upgrade on Bruno.

Amorim is unlikely given the £30m release clause that sporting have.

AVB is possible as he was the guest of our owner for the Southampton game.

Other good managers available but we won’t attract them.

As I say knowing the wolves way, it’s going to be an unknown Portuguese

    • maccathered 2 years ago

As a fan then you’d be happy with another Portugese manager???

    • richb20806 2 years ago

Not overly no. I’m fed up of the model and the reliance on Portuguese players and in Jorge Mendes (as are 99% of wolves fans)

Lopetegui is spanish and up until this season has been good at Sevilla. He had agreed to come but then was offered the spanish national job so obviously took that. We then went for Nuno which worked well for us (but that was a lucky appointment rather than the good judgment of our owners).

He’s probably my favourite of the likely “known” managers (who we can realistically get).

Ruben Amorim is good (and not a Mendes client) but is still Portuguese (which helps I guess as most of our players speak Portuguese). But he also plays a 3-4-3 and we’ve made stupid decisions like loaning Coady to Everton based on this ridiculous need to switch to a back 4.

In an ideal world it’d be Pochettino. But he clearly won’t come to wolves. He will wait for a crack with a CL club. Same with Tuchel….. not a cat in hells chance.

Begs the question…. Who’s British and available? Or if not available, that we can prize away?

      Dyche – no thanks
      Parker – no thanks

Going British isn’t necessarily the way to go anyway. Lampard has only recently got Everton on the way up. Gerrard had some success in Scotland but that’s not a huge challenge as it’s a 50/50 whether rangers or Celtic will win (no offence intended to anyone) and he’s been dog sh*t at villa.

We need someone who can push on now. We have a squad which is capable of challenging for a place in the Europa (especially if we get a striker). And at the very least they should be at least in the top half.

      1
    • maccathered 2 years ago

For me if you had Dyche in charge with the players you have got then he would more or less be assured of top ten most seasons and maybe even Europe,at Burnley Dyche didn’t have the funds so he worked with he had and did a bloody good job,Nuno made it tough when Wolves played the top teams Liverpool and Man City and we always knew it was going to be difficult to get a result, just imagine how tough Wolves would be to beat under Dyche. Not pretty football by any means but it’s results what matter.

      2
    • richb20806 2 years ago

I get you. I’m just wanting to see entertainment too.

It’s been awful under Bruno. His methods have caused huge divides in the dressing room and his “over coaching” has seen us become dire to watch. If you dig into things and the players we’ve lost…… this is all down to Bruno.

Dyche would be an improvement on Bruno don’t get me wrong. It wouldn’t be thrilling but he would Instill some balls into the team.

I’d like someone who can pick the project up now.

      There will be funds available.

We have a good core team who are totally under performing.

I have my fingers crossed that someone comes along and says “I’ll have a bit of this”. We should be in and around Europa.
