St Johnstone await the winners of tonight's clash at Gayfield where Arbroath and Inverness Caledonian Thistle are vying for a place in the play-off final and ultimately promotion to the Scottish top flight.
Inverness finished the season strongly with just one defeat in their last 11 but they couldn't break through against Arbroath in the first leg, the second stalemate between the sides this season. In fact there's seldom been many scored when the teams have met recently.
Five of the last six meetings have seen either just one or no goals scored. The exception was a 3-0 home win for Caley back in March but other than that there's been very little between the sides when they've met.
Tonight's match looks like another close encounter could be on the cards. The bookies favour Arbroath at 7/5 while the visitors are 21/10. A draw would take it to extra-time and that can't be ruled out at 21/10.
A goal-less first half pays 11/8 but on the Asian Line you can back Under 0.5, 1.0 at a shade over evens (2.025), meaning you'll get half your stake back in if there's one goal.
In the Championship, Huddersfield finished like a train to finish 3rd in the table and set up a play-off semi-final with Luton Town. The first leg takes place at Kenilworth Road tonight and there could be a bit of value with the Terriers at 9/4 based on current form.
A depleted Hatters side were on the end of a hammering to Fulham but bounced back with a win over Reading to end their league campaign. They're outsiders of the four to make it to the Premier League at 9/2.
Huddersfield have all the momentum, just at the right time of the season and look worth a punt at 6/5 on the draw no bet market.

Eurovision Song Contest.
I love a good punt on the Eurovision.
Ukraine are hot favourites, is it because the whole of Europe has brought in to the sympathy of the war they are embroiled in? or their exceedingly amazing track thats in this years competition? I’ll let you make your own mind up.
Still one semi-final to go on Thursday before the big finale on Saturday.
One nation I’ve backed to do well is Finland. Those growing up around the same time as me will recognise the band ‘The Rasmus’. The Finnish typically do well with a rocky track as previous winners Lordi found out with ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’, many years ago.
If you remember the band you’ll recognise the song ‘In the Shadows’. As a band they were a bit of a one hit wonder but that song was huge about 15 years ago. I was surprised to see they had entered the Eurovision Song Contest this year but enter it with a number called ‘Jezebel’. Now those who know their music will recognise the name Desmond Child who co-wrote this track. Desmond Child is a well known and well respected song writer who helped write hits for Ricky Martin, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Kiss, Cher, Alice Cooper amongst others.
At the time of writing you can back Finland e/w (pays 4 places) of odds around 200/1. Granted they’ve got to navigate the semi-final on Thursday and I’m not sure how their live performance will stack up against the competitors.
I will give the tracks that make the final a listen and see if there’s any value to be had elsewhere and post before Saturday. For now I’m getting on neutral Finland to go well at a big price.
***The Rasmus (Finland) progressed from semi-final 2 and are in the final 25. I was quite smug when The Racing Post backed them not to get out of the semi-final. Their live performance was a slow burner (vocally weak in the opening verse, may have been nerves) but once the first chorus kicked in their was no looking back and was a solid effort.***
Ukraine are now 2/7 to win it (which they should) Europe/Unity and all that…
They’ll win the public vote (1/7) but with judges now having an input on the scoring, it’s a huge risk. Could justify the gamble at around evens but thats way too short.

As a music fan I love a bit of Eurovision, don’t mind the cheese and the laughable politics involved (better now as the politics are balanced with musical judges).
I’ve picked a few winners in years gone by, Lordi (Hard Rock Hallelujah) were quite big odds from what I remember. Backed last years winner Maneskin, think they were around 2/1, 3/1.
I’ve listened to the final 25, as Eurovisions go it’s pretty weak.
The favourites are Ukraine (1/3). Absolutely no value. It’s a middle of the road track but it’ll probably win as everybody will be voting for it with regards to the war.

UK to finish last. 150/1 (Bet365). Ridiculous odds. Whilst it’s actually one of the stronger tracks in the competition, politically we are good at finishing with ‘nil pois’. Definitely worth £1 of anyones money for interest.
