Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into both the Turkish Süper Lig and and the Swiss second-tier and I like the look of two sides bang in form to find the back of the net at least twice.

Çaykur Rizespor vs Fenerbahçe

🇹🇷 Süper Lig

⏰ Friday 22nd April, 18:30

Fenerbahçe will look to maintain their hopes of Champions League qualification, as they take on relegation-threatened Rizespor at the Çaykur Didi Stadyumu. The visits are currently positioned in second, a point above Konyaspor, whilst the hosts are 18th, 10 points adrift of safety.

Despite taking the lead, Rizespor were denied their first league victory away from home last time out, as they drew 1-1 against Kayserispor. Bülent Korkmaz’s side come into this off the back of two impressive home wins over Konyaspor and Trabzonspor, however, prior to that they had lost four of their previous six on home turf. Rizespor have conceded in 27/33 of their Süper Lig fixtures this term and have the leagues leakiest defence, conceding on 59 occasions. The Black Sea Sparrowhawk have conceded on multiple occasions in 20 of their league fixtures this season, including in five of their last seven at home.

Fenerbahçe won for the fifth match in a row last time out, as they defeated 19th-placed Göztepe 2-0 in Istanbul. Ismail Kartal’s side come into this unbeaten in their last seven matches away from home, winning each of their last four, scoring 13 goals in the process. Fenerbahçe have found the back of the net in 31/33 of their Süper Lig fixtures this season and only Trabzonspor (60) and Alanyaspor (59) have scored more than their tally of 58. The Yellow Canaries have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in 20 of their league fixtures this season, including in eight of their last nine.

FC Schaffhausen vs FC Wil

🇨🇭Challenge League

⏰ Friday 22nd April, 18:30

Schaffhausen will look to maintain their push for promotion to the Swiss top-flight, as they host Wil at wefox Arena. The hosts are currently second, three points behind league leaders Winterthur, whilst the visitors are in eighth position.

Schaffhausen made it five wins out of six last time out, as they won 0-1 away to Yverdon Sport. Martin Andermatt’s side have lost just once at home this season and come into this having won 10 of their last 12 on home turf. Schaffhausen have found the back of the net in 25/30 of their Challenge League, failing to score just once at home. FCS have scored 32 of their 56 goals in the league this season at home, and they’ve scored on multiple occasions in nine of their last 12.

Wil put an end to their four-match winless streak last time out, as they defeated seventh-placed Stade Lausanne-Ouchy 3-0. Brunello lacopetta’s side have failed to win any of their last seven matches on their travels, losing five of them. Not only do Wil have the second-worst away record in the division, but they have the second-worst defensive record, conceding 33 goals in their 15 fixtures, with their only clean sheet coming against rock-bottom Kriens. Wil have conceded on multiple occasions in 12/15 of their away matches, including in seven of their last eight.

Bet of the Day

Both Çaykur Rizespor and Fenerbahçe are at opposite ends of the table and need points for very different reasons and while the hosts have recorded a couple of impressive wins at home, I’m keen to get the visitors onside here. The Yellow Canaries have won eight of their last nine in the Süper Lig, including each of their last four away so come into this match in confident mood. I expect goals here and whilst there’s a good chance the hosts will score, I’m happy to back Fenerbahçe to score two or more, something they’ve managed to do in eight of their last nine.
Schaffhausen can go level on points with league leaders Winterthur if they collect all three points here and I expect them to do against a Wil side who struggle on their travels. The visitors have failed to win any of their last seven away, losing five and given the hosts have won 10 of their last 12 at home, we should see FCS come out on top. The hosts have scored on multiple occasions in nine of their last 12 and given the visitors have conceded two or more in seven of their last eight away, I’m happy to back a repeat here.

  • Fenerbahçe to Score 2+ Goals
