THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on all SPFL games are McBookie .com.

It’s a great service they provide and we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from Scotland.

Here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his latest selections.

He says: “We might only be a few games into the 2020-21 season but the League One clash between Partick Thistle and Falkirk this weekend has a season-defining feel about it, especially for the home side in this shortened campaign.

“The Jags began the season as odds-on favourites to go straight back up but after three matches are out to 9-4 joint second favourites with Cove Rangers and have failed to score in two of those games.

“I tipped Cove Rangers to beat them last weekend as I thought that Thistle were too short, especially after their 1-0 defeat at Clyde in the opening fixture.

“And I’ll be against Partick Thistle again this weekend against a Falkirk side who might have had a 100 per cent record but for a crucial sending-off against Forfar.

“McBookie have both sides as 6-4 joint favourites for the win but I would be leaning to having the Bairns as clear favourites.

“Falkirk’s Akeel Francis is a player I don’t know too much about as he joined Falkirk on a free from the English National League North side Farsley, having previously been at Guiseley, Accrington, North Ferriby and Rotherham.

“That’s quite a long CV for a 21-year-old striker but it looks as though he might be at Falkirk for a good bit longer as he has scored in two of his last three games and is now a regular in the starting 11.

“McBookie make him 5-1 to score the first goal of what could be a pivotal game in League One so early on in the season.

“Moving up a division into the Championship and Dunfermline continue to do this column well and have become 8-1 clear second favourites having been 25-1 at the start of the campaign.

“McBookie have taken more single bets on the Pars than any other side in the Championship and those early punters have been rewarded with three straight league wins and a 100 per cent record in all competitions.

“On Saturday they get another test of where they are at as title contenders with a visit to Somerset Park to face Ayr United. I expected to see Dunfermline as odds on but they can be backed at 5-4.

“Pars defender Euan Murray has scored first in four of Dunfermline’s last five games and the only occasion he didn’t was when I tipped him against Alloa!

“Murray has been getting some terrific set-piece service from Dom Thomas and hopefully my luck can change and he can score first again at 12-1 with McBookie.

“Finally in League Two, regular readers will know I expect Stenhousemuir to do well this season in League Two and put up the strongest challenge to title favourites Queen’s Park.

“So I was staggered to see the Warriors as 9-4 outsiders at home to even-money favourites Edinburgh City.

“We might be just three games in but I am going to call this as one of the best value bets that we are likely to see in the 2020-21 season.

“Greig Spence was playing Championship football at the beginning of this year and is surely too good to be playing at this level.

“He is a huge 13-2 with McBookie to score the opening goal and third of the season.”
