Liverpool v Paris St Germain

ARGUABLY match of the night is at Anfield on Tuesday when five-times winners Liverpool host pretenders to the European Champions throne, PSG.
Last season's runners-up Liverpool have made a fantastic start to the season, with five wins from five in the Premier League, likewise PSG who have done the same in Ligue 1. So something has to give tonight.
Liverpool's home form was a real feature of their run to the final in last year's competition. The fabled Anfield atmosphere inspired them to some special performances that saw them score 24 goals in seven home matches (3.42 per game). The goals may not be as free-flowing so far this season (2.2 per game) but I expect there could be goals tonight.
Bookies have priced up Liverpool as favourites at 11/10, while PSG could represent value at 5/2 (Bet365).
PSG have rattled in 17 in five to date (3.4), scoring three or more in each match. The French champions set a new Champions League record of 25 group stage goals before crashing out of the competition to eventual winners Real Madrid in the Round of 16 of last season's competition. With the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani and Di Maria it's hard to imagine them not scoring at Anfield.
Unfortunatley, the bookies agree and have priced up Over 2.5 goals at around the 1/2 mark and it's hard to find value anywhere on the goals markets. When goals are expected I sometimes look to an early goal for value but the line has been set at 24:00 mins (5/6 bet365), when it is usually around the 30 minute mark. If you fancy a late goal, after 77:59 mins you can also get 5/6 and that might be better value.
Despite Liverpool's improvement defensively they won't face as many sides with as much attacking talent this season and PSG to score two or more appeals at 6/5.
An outside goal bet that could be worth a small play is both teams to score in both halves at 15/2 (bet365).
Back to the outright market, and that 5/2 on PSG is gnawing away at me, as is the 6/4 Draw No Bet on the Parisiens and I may need to have a bite on one of Bet365's BetBuilders.
