BARCELONA and Real Madrid look obvious choices on the Asian Handicaps this weekend but will they both win by at least three goals? I'm not so sure so I'm looking elsewhere for value.
The aforementioned Spanish giants “should” win their respective home fixtures but with the handicap set at -2.5 for odds around the evens mark it's not an attractive proposition.
So it's off to Italy for this weekend's first pick.
Palermo v AC Milan (5pm)
There's not many teams in Italy with a record against AC Milan like Palermo's in recent years. They've won all five of Milan's recent visits to the Stadio Renzo Barbera and can upset the odds on Saturday again.
Although ninth in Serie A the Sicilians boast a fantastic home record, only bettered by Udinese. In 12 games only Cesena and Napoli have won there this season.
Both teams will need to contend with several injuries to their squad but Milan will be boosted by the return of Ibrahimovic from suspension. Allegri's side need the win with Juve continuing to breathe down their neck in the race for the Scudetto so the pressure is on.
Palermo have proven they've got goals in them and have scored more goals at home than any other side and if Juve are looking at the fixture list to where Milan might drop points then this is a stand-out banana skin.
188Bet are offering Palermo on the split handicap +0.5/+1 at 1.93, which give us a win if they manage a draw or better and half our stake back on a one-goal defeat.
Ipswich v Bristol City
It's all gone Pete Tong for Derek McInnes at Bristol City. After arriving in a blaze of glory his side are heading in the wrong direction and find themselves in the bottom three again.
The sale of Nicky Maynard hasn't helped and with him went their main goalscoring threat. They go to Portman Road aiming to end a run of seven games without a win but face a side heading in the opposite direction.
The Tractor Boys had won four on the spin before last week's 3-0 reverse at Brighton but they can get back to winning ways on Saturday and we can squeeze a wee bit more value out of them by backing them on the Asian Handicap.
City haven't scored in their last five encounters with Ipswich and have won just once in their last 10 meetings.
Ipswich can be backed on the split handicap (-0.5, -1) at 2.03 at 188Bet.
Blackburn v Aston Villa
Two Glaswegians go head-to-head yet again in the Premier League at Ewood Park but it's hard to know who is under most pressure.
Steve Kean's travails have been well documented all season but pressure is seriously mounting on Alex McLeish after a run of five games without a win.
Big Eck will also need to contend without Darren Bent (injured) and Robbie Keane (back to LA) for the rest of the season, relying on the likes of Agbonlahor and N'Zogbia for his goals, which have been hard to come by already this season.
Blackburn don't appear to have a problem finding the back of the net. They're highest scorers in the bottom half of the table – but have also conceded more than anyone – and would like having more firepower than Villa on the day.
Rather than back Rovers outright use the Asian Handicap for a bit of insurance. They can be backed on (0, -0.5) at 2.09 which means if they win we're quids in, if it's a draw half our stake is returned.
