PHIL TAYLOR is 16-1 with William Hill to hit another nine-darter in the McCoy’s Premier League in Belfast next week.
The Power, the current 11-8 tournament favourite, set the AECC in Aberdeen alight on Thursday with a dazzling display against Kevin Painter – including a stunning nine-dart finish.
Gary Anderson, the defending Premier league champion, sent a vocal hometown crowd into a frenzy following his convincing 8-2 victory over Andy Hamilton.
The Flying Scotsman is now rated 5-1 by williamhill.com to retain his crown. Raymond Van Barneveld and world champion Adrian Lewis shared the spoils following a gripping 7-7 draw in the opening match of the night, while Simon Whitlock was too good for James Wade in the final match of the evening.
William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny said: “Taylor was simply awesome in Aberdeen and punters are already backing him to hit back-to back nine-darters next week.
“He’s 11-8 favourite to land his seventh Premier League crown and it will be a brave man backing against him.”
