    Timeform comments:

Nufooth (3 out of 5 stars): Lightly-raced maiden. 7/2, respectable third of 8 in maiden at Brighton (7f, good to soft). Off 12 months. Makes AW debut. First run for yard after leaving Richard Hannon. Kirby a positive booking.
Race commentary: WHAT A DANDY is only 1 lb above the mark he was last successful from and might be worth chancing back on his favoured surface. Dreaming Again can probably be forgiven a poor run on turf last time and had won over C&D prior to that, while the booking of Adam Kirby suggests the lightly-raced Nufooth is ready to go on her return to action.

  20. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Haven’t been able to post for a while due to standing on laptop when drunk and it never allowing me to post on phone.

Now I have a laptop and am bit drunk again thought I would write an essay and put some up I picked out earlier for tomorrow!

Got a bit jammy last few weeks & landed a couple of decent trixies to pay for a long overdue holiday to Rome! :)

MASSIVE thanks to JB & DOUGIE as LEMONCETTA & SOLWAY LEGEND with my pick CARTAGO in a trixie got me the spending money!!

Dettori & Gosden a force to be reckoned with – follow them blind overseas too!

Normally stick to betting on jumps but have always followed flat and really enjoyed it this year as was first year betting it so shame its now tailing off. That said I can’t deny I love the jumps season and always adds to my xmas bank :)

Follow the in form trainers early on until the big boys really get going and you can’t go wrong!

Going for a couple of patents tomorrow to see if the luck can continue 😉 Fancy all the win bets strongly and especially fancy TILINISI each way.

2.00 DON – TIDAL WAVE 2/1 – Pretty self explanatory and a nice speed figure LTO.

3.00 DON – MEDICEAN MAN 7/2 NAP – hoping with a few front runners it could set up nicely and is a strong fancy.

2.50 CAR – EDIYE 3/1 – Think is a good price and very rare runner here for H Palmer. On form & speed figures should take all the beating. Out of depth a bit in last race although may have finished a bit closer if not hampered. Also has B.Curtis on board who has a good record at Carlisle.

GOLD STAR EACH WAY PATENT! (Small stakes)

4.10 DON – SULAALAT 10/1 E/W – No advantage here formwise just personally I am struggling to see where real pace will come from and think it might be able to at least sneak a place if Hanagan goes from the front. Had short break so will be ready and has blinkers on for the first time which will help if making the running. Really hoping this stays over 8 runners & obbviously plenty of dangers so small stakes.

1.40 UTTO – TILINISI 7/1 E/W NB – Should be bang there on form if taking to hurdles & is getting weight. Of course Jonjo could have anything with his horse but Middleton in great form so far this year and also has 44% strike rate in hurdles at Uttoxeter over last 5 years for a +39.75 profit to level stakes. Has to be worth a play each way!

4.35 CAR – INGLEBY ANGEL 9/1 E/W – Carries a big weight here but should’nt matter too much on the good to firm ground. Last time it got these conditions it won from 4lb lower and with 7lb claimer on it better off. Pace should suit as well and should be able to close towards end. Not ran too badly lately considering the races were just to drop its hcap mark and O’Meara never really out of form! JACOB BLACK a good horse but on speed figures is not well in at all compared to the pick and I would say IFWECAN is main danger.

Desperately hope we get at least 8 in all of them!

Lastly not a bet but worth a mention is 2.40 UTTO – BALLYKAN 9/2. NTD has a decent strike rate with chasers here and I noticed sends them here to start fairly often. Has a really progressive profile will love trip and ground so as long as it takes to fences has to have much better chance than odds suggest. Plus HOBBS not great record here!

Sorry for the length but hope you have enjoyed the essay and gl all tomorrow! :)

P.S anyone who has been to Rome – decent restaurants? And colloseum worth a ticket or not??

  21. Smurf 3 years ago

    Great write up Nagman.

I came back from a week in Rome on Saturday. You need to see the Colloseum, it’s by far the best attraction. Don’t waste time finishing the Trevi fountain as its under construction and has no water just scaffolding.

If you walk up to the top of the Spanish steps and the walk left once at the top you will walk towards and amazing park, it’s huge, something you wouldn’t expect in the centr of Rome, it has great views. Just before you reach the park is a restaurant (I forget the name) which is considered once of the best in the City, although you do need to book so if only there a few days you could struggle.

The place in general is amazing, don’t bother with the tour buses and just walk around the city and you will get a great feel for the place. Amazing city.

  22. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Also Gaffer great spot, looks a cracking each way bet & seems huge price to me!

Is really strange as CONFESSIONAL hasn’t ran below Class 2 since 2013!

Either trainer is trying to get it back on track and get a bit of money in the bank or he thinks it is completely past it! Lets hope its not the latter 😀 lol

Is 9lb below last winning mark, huge drop in class and although it prefers bit of cut in the ground if it can get out in front I highly doubt it will be caught by these lot as they seem average at best! Has to be good for at least a place.

Dettori’s mount probably main danger to be honest.

  23. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Thanks Smurf, looking forward to it even more now :)

Definitely going to see the Colloseum just wanted to check whether the ticket inside is worth it or not, you have swayed me! Best to get one beforehand? I have heard queues are enormous sometimes (3-4 hours?!!). Will be seeing Vatican on 2nd of 4 days and have got a 3 hour tour booked so looking forward to that but heard is manic inside!

Hotel is almost on top of the Trevi fountain so that is a shame but park sounds brilliant, I always love going inside them in the big cities as they seem even better in the midst of all the chaos and can imagine how beautiful the one in Rome will be!

Will have a look online for the restaurant and see if I can find a number to book early, food has to be something special if its the best in Rome 😉

  24. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Haha MR-F – my old mans new wife came from there so know all about the wonder that is Perth 😉

Though in all honesty really is a beautiful area round there!

Although the area she comes from there reminds me of Ipswich where I live now – lovely all around it, not great to look at inside!

  27. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Alanm like your gold star, definitely in with a place chance at the very least. Already Have a saver on it if my pick loses!

First time I ever got it right, missed out on £400 2 weeks ago by shitting it and cashing out early but got to love the invention though as the ball in your court!

Had £20 doubles and £10 treble on

    Border Breaker @ 5/2 **WON**
    Screaming Rose @ 9/10 **WON**
    Count Salazar @ 4/1 **LOST**

First two went in (albeit first one bit lucky) and luckily bottled it before the last one ran after hearing something from a mate and cashed out for over £200 on the double and £50 on the treble which is way over what the double would have got me alone.

  30. NAGMAN 3 years ago

Normally the way I play it but when you leave it logged in and she sees the wedge sitting in your Coral account try telling them it’s your betting bank not spendable money! Hence the kitchen! Haha

  32. Smurf 3 years ago

The que for the Colloseum isn’t to bad actually but the Vatican is madness. The Vatican is the place I’d suggest a tour as it works as a que jump too.

The park really is amazing. Also there is a wonderful restaurant called GiNa’s. It’s close to the Spanish steps and if you look it up online they do a picnic hamper for about €40 or €60-70 with wine. You take the hamper to the park and it’s well worth it, you get loads of great food and drink with it and all the essentials for a picnic hamper (cutlery, plates, cups, glasses, bottle opener etc) makes the trip to the park that much better.

You are making me want to be right back there now :)

    Sunday 6pm
    Miami Dolphins @ Washington Redskins

MIAMI -3.5 points 20/21 NAP Ladbrokes

    MIAMI -10.5 points 5/2 Ladbrokes

Quite simply in my opinion the best bet of week 1
The Redskins could be a contender this season to be winless
Kirk Cousins taking over from Robert Griffin III is a step back and he should expect to be sacked multiple times on Sunday against what could end up one of the best defences this season

The Redskins offensive line of Trent Williams, Shawk Lauvao, Kory Lichtensteiger, Brandon Schreff and Morgan Moses simply won’t handle a defence with Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake, Oliver Vernon and Earl Mitchell

Miami in my opinion could win the AFC EAST this season at 9/2 with Bet365

on the quest for value today,

2.30 doncaster Madrinho currently as high as 10s could drift further. beaten by a neck in a class 1 and a length in a class 2 he can hold his own and with a good run today could see a return to winning although ill be betting e/w.

2.00 doncaster Ferryover 7/2 already been mentioned alot 2nd out of 18 runners at 20/1 lto and was a very good effort for his first foray into class 2 company well worth backing especially over tidal wave who is stepping up to class 2 today for the first time.

Hi people, I’m new to adding comments but been following JohnB for a few months and doing pretty well. I’m at Doncaster tomorrow for ladies day, any tips as the fields are pretty big for my studying

    Something or Nothing …

Richard Fahey has Jessie B Goode in the opening race at Doncaster. She also ran today at Carlisle and finished well down the field (Held up, ridden 2f out, soon weakened)

Now we could wake up in the morning to find it is a non runner.

But I keep asking why did he run this today in a 3K race and think it can run again in a race worth 25K the next day.

On further investigation I found Fahey won this same race last year with a 12/1 shot, when I dug a little deeper I found he is 6 wins from 12 runs with 2YO fillies at this meeting. He also had nine entered in for this race at the four day stage and Jessie B Goode is the only one left in the race.

Was the race at Carlisle just a prep run?

The first jockey that ever rode her in a race was Patrick Mather at 8st 10. He is up again tomorrow at 8st 4. (lowest ever weight)

Now I could be wrong, but Bet Victor are 50/1 and of course I am not advising anyone lumps on this but I am going to chance a couple of quid each way to if it is something or nothing. (paying 4 places)

    Timeform comments:

Bakht A Rawan (3 out of 5 stars): Found winning run coming to a halt when fifth at Windsor and Salisbury, but bounced back to form when third over C&D last time. Each-way player again with a repeat.
Race commentary: SWOT stepped up on his 2014 efforts when scoring with plenty in hand at Lingfield last month. That was his first start for 10 months, and, with the promise of more to come now handicapping he earns the vote. A number of his rivals arrive in good nick also, with Italian Beauty and Bakht A Rawan chief amongst them.

Tolah (3 out of 5 stars): Has made little impact in 3 starts in maiden company at 12f, but may do better now handicapping over this longer trip. Worth a market check.
Race commentary: SHIFTING MOON made it 2 wins from 2 starts at this course when taking a handicap 19 days ago. That was her best effort yet, and with the longer trip expected to suit, she is fancied to follow up in the finale. Grams And Ounces has to be feared given his recent resurgence over hurdles, and is preferred to Dr Finley for the forecast.
