MAN UNITED were rotten last night – but Zlatan Ibrahimovic was magnificent.

I backed the Swede at 14-5 to score first and banked a nice profit of 11.2pts. So in two days I've won 22.2pts on two Super Singles and will make an attempt to clear the monthly losses.

If that happens it will be the greatest recovery since some bloke called Lazarus turned up his mate's house for a surprise party.

Talking of miracles that was a great shout from Chris Guy who tipped Zlatan to score with a header at 8-1.

Well done to everyone who landed winners and also to Dundalk for their fabulous success at home to Maccabi Tel Aviv.

I really hate Europa League nights and lost three points on two trebles but I could afford that after winners earlier in the week.

There are a few big games to look at tonight and I've posted a separate preview on Motherwell v Hearts in the Premiership.

There's also Friday night football in the Premier League as Everton host Crystal Palace. Everton have gone off the boil with two defeats after a great start to the season while Palace will be lifted by their dramatic weekend win at Sunderland.

Palace are unbeaten in three trips to Goodison – including two 3-2 wins – and are as big as 9-2 at Betfred. Like Motherwell, who are 3-1 at home to Hearts, they could be considered on the draw no bet market at 29-10 with 888sport or not to lose at 16-13.

Red Bull Leipzig host Augsburg in the Bundesliga and let's hope there's another start for Scotland attacker Oliver Burke who netted within five minutes of his first start at Cologne last week.

Newcomers Leipzig have started well with two wins and three draws but won't find it easy against an Augsburg side who have won two and lost two of their first. Don't see RB losing but it could be a draw and they look a little short at odds on.

Real Sociedad have lost just two of 10 meetings with Real Betis and beat Las Palmas 4-1 at home last time out. Betis have had a mixed start and could lose out here. The last four meetings have seen both to score so that could be the shout at 5-6 with Betfred.

In France Rennes face Guingamp defending a 100 per cent home record – three wins from three with seven scored. Guingamp sit one point above them after a decent start and have won on three of their last four visits to Normandy. I'd favour Rennes at 11-10 with Ladbrokes and McBookie but the h2h stats worry me.

PEC Zwolle v Den Haag in Holland looks to favour overs. The last four meetings have seen both to score and over 2.5 goals with an average of five a game. Five out of Den Haag's last six have gone over 2.5 goals but PEC's last two at home have produced exactly two. Over 2.5 goals pays 14-19 at 888sport.

Tondela managed to escape the drop last season but have started poorly with two points from six games including no goals in three home outings.

Tonight their visitors are Pacos Ferreira who have won their last two and will be eyeing up a hat-trick. They won here 2-0 last season and are 15-8 with bet365 and Coral and a Super Single contender.

I've only had time to look at the big games with it being a Friday but there are the usual Dutch lower league games to look at for goals and Greg is likely to post tips on French Ligue 2 so keep an eye out for them.

Possibly I've been overthinking things today as I'm keen for Super Single redemption. I considered fit-again Romelu Lukaka to score for Everton but in the end I'm on Pacos Ferreira draw no bet at Tondela. Wish me luck!

My only other bet tonight is a Top Treble on both to score at PEC v Den Haag, Augsburg not to lose and Motherwell not to lose.

Just had a quick scan at the championship matches this Saturday, its going to be one hell of an ask to find a winner in amongst those matches.
Not getting ahead of myself after Derby turned their performance on match day into quite a solid 2 nil away win, but I have never made a secret that Derby always hit a purple patch in October and November. Tomorrow is the 1st October so the historic stats are there – but – Reading stuffed us 3 nil in the last game of the season before last when all we needed was a draw. This fixture last year saw us grab a 1 nil away to them and a 1-1 at the Ipro.
Reading have some impressive scalps this past few months, but come into this game on the back of a wretched 4-1 defeat away to Brentford.
With former derby player ( Chris Powell ) – assistant to Pearson running the show until Mel Morris decides what he’s going to do with Pearson, we’ve renewed belief that we can turn the season around because Powell went straight back to the 4-3-3 that the team/fans have been screaming out for.
One thing is for certain: If Powell nails that formation back into our match-day plans, the team absolutely MUST deliver with it. If we don’t make it work, Pearson will one smug git. I hope we don’t give him the satisfaction.

Although I missed all of the match commentary on the last outing, I have watched the highlights. I was impressed. we chased everything down, the team looked much more purposeful and I think that the formation change and backroom staff juggle was the drastic changes I mentioned needed to occur for us to get something out of that match. This solitary win in 7 matches is only our 2nd of 10 matches and unless we can put down another solid performance away from home and back that last match result up with another 3 points, the Cardiff win will mean very little. It’s a big ask for Derby to get a win at the Madjeiski stadium, we’re 17/10 for the win and Reading are 19/10 – given Readings past 7 matches ( ignoring the last loss they had ) the Reading win price looks too big to me.
Pre-match and Derby would take a point, Reading MUST be thinking they can get all three, but with a 4-1 away loss on their backs, Reading need a reaction.
Derby also poached their star player in January – Nick Blackman. It appears he’s now taking up Martins role as penalty taker and is starting to get some match time.
The story of returning players to past employers is always on my mind.

As soon as I have more info on the Pearson saga, I shall share.

What about Barnsley away to Leeds. With Barnsley already swinging the axe at their manager in the aftermath of this bungs fiasco, Barnsley’s heads could drop and be ripe for the taking by Leeds.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Barnsley are on a poor run but will be up for the derby.
It’s the assistant manager who has been sacked not the manager.

The closest I’ve ever come to having a cocktail was when I dropped a pork scratching into my pint of mild a few weeks ago by mistake.

But after getting a taste for it on Wednesday, I’m having another Singapore Sling this luchtime…

HOME UNITED VS. YOUNG LIONS (12.30 KO):

Young Lions scored 3 in a 7 goal epic the other day and I was right in the middle of the goals so this one stood out straight away on the daytime card when I dpotted it.

Both teams are involved in high scorers but are invariably on the losing side – of Home Utd’s last 9 games, 4 have seen 4 or more whilst Young Lions last 12 have seen 9 games at or over the magic mark!

A quick look at recent H2H’s
confirms my thinking with 2 games this year: a 2-2 draw and a 4-1 win for Home Utd.

Other information of note is that both games saw only 7 and 8 corners – which rules out a combo bet – and the second halves saw a combined total of 5 goals which interests me.

Four selections to consider with the first being the main stake:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…4/5

    OVER 4.5 MGS…13/8

    BTTS 2ND HALF…13/8

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…9/1

    Good luck ?

  8. HullShaker 8 years ago

    EVERTON v CRSYTAL PALACE:

Like Mr F has already said, a bright period seems to have come to an abrupt halt for an Everton side who, having won 5 on the trot, were given a shot in the arm by Norwich in the Cup and then more notably Bournmouth in the EPL.

Palace are playing out a bit of role-reversal here and after a couple of losses, they now sit on the cusp of a 5th unbeaten EPL game with one draw and three cracking back to back wins…note that all of these 4 games have seen both teams scoring.

On the same vein, Palace’s last three visits to Goodison have featured ‘BTTS yes’ and they have come away with the points on each occassion…two of these were 3-2 scorelines!

Scott Dann will be a big loss for Palace but they have enough threat offensively with the likes of Towsnsend and Benteke to trouble an Everton side without the likes of McCarthy and most likely Leighton Baines.

With an Everton win taking them into 2nd place and a Palace win seeing them a dizzying joint 3rd, this one should be a cracker!

    Two selections:

    BTTS…3/4

    OVER 3.5 MGS…2/1

Best of luck with all bets ?

Afternoon gents. First of all well done to Chris Guy on the Zlatan header. Was some shout.

I was right about one thing last night, unfortunately it didn’t land the needed goals. I said Dundalk were no pushovers and while they proved that, they probably proved a bit too much keeping Tel Aviv out and getting their three points. Tonight I go to Sweden where with games running out, two teams are still playing for something with Helsingborg hosting Hammarby. Helsingborg are in a relegation battle, with Hammerby around mid table but relegation still not out of the question. A few more points would all but seal survival. Helsingborg are very much an overs side at home with 9 of their 12 going over 2.5 this season. They have conceded in every single home game this season and will likely today with Hammarby’s recent away form. Though with relegation a possibility, I think they’ll have a goal in them. They’ve scored in their last seven at home against this side and only failed to score twice at home all season.

    Helsingborg/Hammarby BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 20/21 @ 365 – 2.1 points

    Union Sint-Gillis v Tubeke

Union Sint-Gillis play against Tubeke in the Belgian second tier tonight. These teams average more than 3 goals a game (3,28 and 4,14).Union scored and conceded in every home game this season, Tubeke scored in all their away games this season. Both teams have 5 games out of 7 which saw BTTS and overs.

Nicolas Rajsel of Union Sint-Gillis is top of the goalscorers list with 8 goals in 7 games. He only failed to score in 1 game this season and also scored in the reverse fixture in the first game of the season (2-2). Tubeke have the worst defence in the league conceding 18 goals in 7 games. That is enough for me to back him to score tonight.

well today i’m really struggling to find a reason to stop me backing over 2.5 on most of the dutch jupiler league games tonight, i’ve looked and looked and looked and all the stats seem to suggest that at least seven games will go over 3 goals, so i’m having it!! i’m thinking that the games at rkc, de graafschap and volendam appear less likely. so i’m going to do a seven fold at almost 16/1 with skybet, and a ten fold at 62/1

also liking the austrian erste division and can see goals in the games at neustadt linz and lustenau

similarly stats point to goals in belgium at oostende and Union St.-Gilloise, so i’ll make it a lucky 15 fold! a heady 1031/1 with bet victor!

Well done Mr Fixit with Callum Paterson. Managed to get him 4/1 anytime @ Betfred. Why is a defender only 11/1 for first goal and 4/1 anytime? I get Tavernier for Rangers is short for first and anytime but didn’t expect that short from a Hearts player. Oh well I’m glad I only opted for anytime.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Cheers but Paterson is that short because he scores plenty.

  43. chris guy 8 years ago

Mr Fixit you gave me the Callum Paterson winner so the winner I choose for you is an Ibrahimovic header @ 9/1 on Sun.

  44. chris guy 8 years ago

    Celtic vs Dundee tomorrow.

Kieran Tierney is 40/1 first goal and 14/1 anytime @ Betfred. I’ll be on him as well as Lustig first 30/1 and 10/1 anytime with 888sport.

  45. andrzejstarba 8 years ago

Looking at game in Ecuador about to kick off with Fuerza at home to Emelec. Emelec are the stronger team but had mixed season so far from what i have seen. Therefore, its goals that interest me. Last 2 h2h have seen 2-1 scoreline with Emelec winning both. Last 4 games for Emelec have seen o2.5gls and Fuerza score and arent adverse to conceding either. Ill be on the following

Having a wee attempt at a night owl bet myself

    Paraguay Division Profesional

    Libertad vs Deportivo Capiata 00:10

The H2H record for this game shows a fairly strong trend towards goals when Libertad are at home. The scores have been 4-2, 3-3, 3-1, 2-1, 0-0, 2-1, 2-1

Libertad have seen 4 of their past 5 home league games over 2.5ftg and Capiata have also seen 4 of their past 5 away league games beat this goal line

I’m going to slightly increase the risk behind the natural over 2.5ftg and go for

    Over 3 ftg @ 2.30

    Ecuador Primera A

Barcelona Guayaquil vs El Nacional 1:45am

The home side do their Spanish namesakes proud with their home record being unbeaten in their last 20 home games and they’ve won 17 of these 20 including their last 9 in a row. They have cleared a one goal handicap in all 9 of these games

El Nacional are no mugs but have lost 3-0 on their last two visits to Barcelona

    Barcelona Guayaquil -1.5AH @ 2.35

    Mexico Liga MX

    Tijuana vs Atlas 3am

H2H shows Tijuana have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 1 of the last 6 when at home but have managed at least two goals on 4 of these occasions, including 6 in their last 2.

Tijuana currently sit top of the table with a 100% home record after 5 games scoring 11 and conceding just once and only failing to score at least twice on one occasion

Atlas have taken just two points from 5 away games, conceding 11 goals in the process and after getting a 0-0 in their first away game of the season, they’ve lost at least two goals in every other away game despite not playing anyone currently higher than 6th

    Tijuana over 1.5tg @ 1.66

    Treble pays 9.00

  53. elander 8 years ago

    Like it Richard thanks.

I’m going to add New York City to score 2 at 2.40 to make it a Yankee (no pun intended). NYC have the second best away record in the MLS against a team struggling near the bottom. NYC also have the incentive to win to go top after Toronto’s draw midweek.

Certainly didn’t go to plan today :( well done all with winners. Hopefully with a full weekend of football, darts, boxing and UFC I’ll scheme a nice comeback.

    • garry 8 years ago

I have been on your NAPS mate.. cracking stuff past few days with decent odds
Was thinking about cashing out when Oostende went 2-1 up but I thought they will hold on

    • bullseye 8 years ago

Cheers @garry I literally just got in from work to find it had lost, it seems today unfortunately Sint-Truidense decided to raise their game. Usually Oostende are quite a tough nut to crack at home seeing off the likes of Gent and Anderlecht regularly but today it just seems like Sint-Truidense started the process of halting their rot, onwards.

Evening gents. It was a no show in Sweden with only Hammarby getting their goal. 2.1 points lost but ends September in profit which is never bad.

I’m starting October in Mexico with Tijuana hosting Atlas. The home side lead the Apertura with a few games remaining but still haven’t sealed first place for the playoff stage. They have won all five of their home games, and with Atlas losing three of five on the road conceding twice or more in four, they should concede a few tonight. However, prices are fairly short so I’m taking a goalscorer which I’ve taken before and he’s done the job. Dayro Moreno has nine goals in eleven games and has scored in four of Tijuanas’ five home games. He is on penalty duty and if I’m not mistaken will attempt the free kicks too. A good price for his season form.

    Dayro Moreno (Tijuana) Anytime @ 11/10 @ 365 – 2.5 points – Mexico – 3:00AM
