    Timeform comments:

Toofi (5 out of 5 stars): Remains lightly-raced for a 4-y-o and ran best race to date when a close second in the Stewards’ Cup, finishing strongly. Far from disgraced in 7f listed event at York since and should go well.
Race commentary: TOOFI looked potentially pattern class when runner-up in the Stewards’ Cup off 4 lb lower and gets the vote back at 6f having shaped better than the bare result in a 7f listed event at York 3 weeks ago. Shore Step has been running well all season and returns to the scene of his last success, while Foxtrot Romeo is another for the shortlist on debut for David O’Meara.

Mccreery (5 out of 5 stars): Fine start when staying-on late to mow down three next-time-out winners on debut at Newbury (7f) in September. Not ideally placed on June’s reappearance, so remains with potential, especially at 1m.
Race commentary: MCCREERY looked a useful prospect when successful on his sole 2-y-o outing, and June’s handicap debut/reappearance certainly isn’t a race to judge him harshly on. With this step up in trip promising to suit, he could well be the answer, though Alkawn, Awesome Power and No Delusion are just 3 possible dangers.

Derulo (3 out of 5 stars): Matched winning Irish form when runner-up in 10f course handicap in May, but must have been amiss given how far he was beaten at Doncaster later that month, and absent since.
Race commentary: HOT MUSTARD has already enjoyed a productive 2015 for William Muir, and with last month’s C&D success working out better than expected, he may not have finished yet up just 3 lb for that. Fellow last-time-out winner Franco’s Secret and Elusive Guest are feared most.

Couple of Irish trainers (David Wachman/ Eddie Lynam) over at Doncaster have got my attention.

    1:55 – Independence Day @ 12/1
Best form on good ground beating Reckless Endeavour who won next time out, that horse beat Herlald the Dawn who has since won twice, form lines are solid and my selection comes here as a solid contender in this race. (same connections won this in 2011) Note: Watchman / Lordan record at Doncaster, 2 runs, 1 win & 1 place.

    3:40 – Midnight Crossing @ 14/1
Two nice runs recorded at 7 furlongs and steps up in trip here for the jockey/trainer who won this rece last year. ( think money will come for this) Note: Lynnam / Lee record at Doncaster is 1 run 1 win.

Both each way and an each way double, prices @ Coral

Looking for the early gold star tomorrow

    14.30 donc royal signaller 20/1 e/w

c&d winner won at doncaster earlier this season on a same trip in a class 2 then scored at ascot over 2m last time out was 1 furlong less than todays trip which should help and his weight is way lower than previous wins.

last 2 days have been bigger price e/w seconds would be more than happy with a place at those odds.

might post a few more in the morning gl all

Trainer John Gallagher’s yard is flying at present winning with 4 of his last 7 runners and performed a minor miracle to get ICANBOOGIE to win earlier this week having been off the track for 600 days. His only runner today is PUSEYS SECRET 1.45 sandown and while its his first run and the draw hasnt been kind, the current odds of 25/1 look too tempting not to have a small ew bet for a yard in such good form.

R Hannons in the first 6 races at salisbury followed by 1 trained by a certain R Hughes in the last. In the 18.50 race 3 horses are ridden by Hannon jockeys but he only has 1 runner in the race. I may be miles wrong but this reminds me of the way they set up for Windsor when Hughes rode every winner.

    Saturday’s Tip

Storm The Stars 2/1 NAP/NB hills coral skybet (double stake)

Storm The Stars doesn’t take a lot of picking but he is quite simply the bet of the day on formats he hasn’t put a foot or hoof wrong in what has been a busy season for him,
His trainer doesn’t usually run a horse as often in a season but Storm The Stars seems to relish it

  119. Dariusz 1 year ago

    Timeform comments:

Storm The Stars (5 out of 5 stars): All-the-way winner of listed event at Goodwood before placed in 3 Group 1s, including Derby/Irish Derby. Battled gamely to repel challenge of Bondi Beach in Great Voltigeur at York since. Big player.
Race commentary (1m 6f 132y): The Great Voltigeur looks the key trial, and with STORM THE STARS winning that race in the style of one who will relish the extra distance, he’s taken to confirm placings with Bondi Beach. The latter’s stablemate Fields of Athenry has each-way appeal.

  120. Dariusz 1 year ago

Just wanted to say that Mr Fixit tipped Hearts a lot this week. Hearts to win, Hearts to score over 1.5 goals, Hearts draw no bet and Hearts -1.
The match starts today at 7:45.

If anyone feels lucky to put Hears in a double with Storm The Stars… 7/5 is a good price now.

  135. Alex 1 year ago

I will be on Storm The Starts tomorrow. A lot of noise for Free Eagle Weld/Smullen. Unbelievable when you consider Golden Horn and Gleneagles are in the same race, question being what will the going be with rain forecast to fall. It doesn’t feel right via the form lines given that Free Eagle just about held off The Great Gatsby and we all now what the Horn did. I doubt Gleneagles will run, question will be whether the Horn is risked again. Weld has a habit of getting horses right, not only does Free Eagle need to be right there needs to be improvement. Anyone with any info please help?!
