I'VE had a decent start to February with two Super Single winners and one void (AH -1, stake returned).

All my picks have been handicap ones so I might go down that route again even though last Saturday I was beaten by Falkirk -1.

Here is my initial W-D-W Super Single shortlist from looking at form and stats but not team news – and of course that will be vital this weekend with so many clubs signing up players towards the end of the transfer window.

Let us know your thoughts, especially on the team you support.

Super Single shortlist

Leicester v C PALACE

BRIGHTON v Nottm Forest

Fulham v BIRMINGHAM

WATFORD v Blackburn

Wigan v BOURNEMOUTH

Fleetwood v PETERBOROUGH

QoS v ST JOHNSTONE

HAMILTON v Kilmarnock

CLYDE v Annan

QUEEN'S PARK v Montrose

Hi Mr F. What do you think of Southampton -1 at QPR. 2/1 with Bet365?
This could be a big away win depending on team news.

Tranmere 11/10 at Betfair to beat Carlise

im a tranmere fan. were unbeaten in 2015 and the upturn in form is remarkable and this is a massive price considering. add 4 v good signings to this and we are a great shout i think,

Ive had a tranmere bury double @ 3/1 but well worth backing as a single imo

  3. Adam Pendo 9 years ago

    * should read Carlisle

I wouldn’t back against Kilmarnock this weekend. I know Hamilton are pretty strong at home and probably will win this game but I just don’t know how Johnston’s announcement that he’s leaving is going to effect the team, as well as Muirhead signing for Dundee Utd. I just don’t know wether these things are going to have positive or negative effect on the team. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this as the SS and for me it’s a no bet!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jamie, Johnston saying he’s going must be a negative and add uncertainty. Not sure about Accies who have lost Andreu but Killie have been poor.

SCUNTHORPE @2.70 best odds fae bet victor via odds checker looks a good shout for Yer SS or possibly in yer home selections Mr Fixit. :-)

  6. Jamie 9 years ago

Killie are always poor but I’m seeing it as a fresh start, I know he’s not away yet but he certainly won’t be missed

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jamie, that’s the point – it’s not a fresh start until he actually leaves.

  7. Jordan 9 years ago

Mr F Palace DNB is available at odds against at most places which I think will be my SS for Saturday.

A bit more reasoning behind backing Tranmere this weekend.

As above, Tranmere’s form has improved dramatically since Micky Adams has come in, and, although we have been conceding a few, are starting to look really strong going forward. Add to this a few new signings (included the long awaited return of Iain Hume :) ), and the fact that Carlisle have lost 7 of last 9 away games, I am confident we can get a win here.

Another one to look out for is Rory Donnelly to score. he joined at the beginning of January from Swansea (they beat Everton and Liverpool to his signature), and looks like a proper goalscorer. He has 3 in his last 3 games, and 19/10 go score any time looks worth a pop

    Reccomended bets
    Tranmere @11/10
    Tranmere and O 2.5 Goals 12/5

Rory Donnelly to score anytime 19/10 (5/1 to score 1st)
    (all prices with Betfair)

I like the look of Brighton. I know many fans before Florist played millwall saw that game as the most winnable of their forthcoming 4 games, and with the self destruct button being pressed at boardroom level and the general morale of everyone associated with the team being at an all time low, I cannot see how they can possibly get anything from this game.
They now have a FULL transfer embargo on their team, its that bad, they probably can’t hire a programme seller.
Couple that with Harry Rednapp walking from the QPR job ( he can’t buy himself safety ) and its been a great week to be a Derby fan.

WATFORD for me if evens or better available
Blackburn last 7 away league games
    Won 0 drawn 4 lost 3
6 of these have seen Btts.
    WATFORD win and bts 5-2
Also Btts and over 2.5 match goals 17-20 almost meets super single criteria, but not quite.

  16. craigyboy 9 years ago

Yet again Bournemouth look overpriced at struggling Wigan.

  17. ALR 9 years ago

    Nathan,

Such a huge shambles, yet still took 4 points off Derby! 93rd minute, too funny!

    • bad jasper 9 years ago

Florist only won once in 11 games, against Derby, oops!!!!

    • bad jasper 9 years ago

      Athletico Madrid v real Madrid
Athletico unbeaten in 90 minutes play v real last 7 games.
Only lost once in last 31 home league games.
Rodriguez injured, don’t know if Ronaldo still banned??
      Athletico draw no bet 21-20

    • nathan ufton 9 years ago

And look where you are – mind the gap. Your chairmans about to bolt for the door, your CEO walked over freedmans appointment and you owe £1.5 million to Peterborough. And you have a full transfer embargo. Get out of that one !! So you’ve taken 4 points off us this season, sure the 2-1 loss hurt, but not as much I’m guessing as the 5-0 we gave you ( apologies for bringing up the past but you lot do it on a weekly basis) – European cup bla bla bla.

On a more serious note … Mr F. I think you’ve missed a game off your super single list. Burton Albion @ 6/5. – a place Notts forest fans are gonna need to start plugging into their sat navs next season.

sochaux double chance is around evens agaisnt a dijon side that has lost their last 5 in a row.
    a sochaux win is 16/5!
seems ridiculously high, the bookies are reading way too much into home advantage i think ?

going to the game tomorrow personally i would not back us,gary rowett has done a fabulous day job but the last few games we have looked tired and remember these players are all freebies and journeymen who have performed miracles
i don’t think they can keep it up for the rest of the season if i’m honest

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

robbo, cheers for the heads up.

ROCHDALE enjoy putting the onion in the net at least twice in most of their games. Can’t see their opponents, woeful Leyton Orient bettering that. Orient to be crying again. ROCHDALE 5/4 Betfair

  27. Sean 9 years ago

Mr. F Chelsea -1 v Aston Villa at 11/10. What are you’re thoughts? I really like this

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Sean, I like it but Chelsea win to nil will be my bet.

  28. ALR 9 years ago

    Nathan,

Sure, we are in a bit of a mess, but it’s not as bad as you’re making out. The money will be paid to Peterborough soon, which frees us to make loan signings again (and as the loan window is currently shut so this ‘full embargo is fairly irrelevant). And I don’t think Fawaz will walk away, he’s fairly cluess but also quite dedicated.

I guarantee you that we won’t go down. Stuart Pearce is my hero, but good god he was an appalling manager. We have a pretty strong squad (good enough to take 4 points from you!), and a half decent manager will get us winning games again pretty soon. Equally, we won’t be anywhere near pushing the top 6 now, that ship has sailed.

You may well get promoted, although nothing is certain. Good luck to you if you do, you have gone about it in the right way and are a good model for any club to follow. And if you do, at least we will keep hold of the Brian Clough Trophy for a while!

Chelsea are up against a Villa team whose goal drought will surely end soon. Villa have scored vs the Blues at home for the past three seasons, and always give Chelsea a game.
While I can’t see a Villa win, the 6/5 Chelsea NCS looks like it’s gonna be my SS.

Aston Villa over 0.5 team goals 6/5 william hill
