    Timeform comments:

Monel (3 out of 5 stars): 3-time C&D winner. Fifteen runs since last win in GB, in 2014. 10/1, below form eighth of 14 in handicap at this course (7.2f, good) 21 days ago.
    Form: 458428
Race commentary: 6f. POPPY IN THE WIND just failed off this mark at Beverley last week and has obvious claims if turning up in the same form. Supersta and Diatomic are others to consider.

Kennedys Mor (5 out of 5 stars): 5/1, respectable eleventh of 18 in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (24f, good to soft) when last seen in August. Has good chance on previous form.
    Form: 8/1-4320
Race commentary: 2m 5f. KENNEDYS MOR is very lightly-raced for an 8-y-o, and was in good form prior to a blip at Roscommon last time, so he is chanced to bounce back after a short break. Cloudy Morning has been running consistently well this year, and should be in the mix, while Give Her Bach merits respect, also.

Might be worth watching the Exeter Fav performance market in running at Exeter today as over 75 currently is 6/4 but if the 1st 3 get beat this could be big in running and the last 3 could all pop in at a decent price with WH

    Timeform comments:

Alamode (5 out of 5 stars): Well-bred filly who confirmed debut promise to win strong Goodwood maiden in July. Step up to 7f sure to suit and likely player.
    Form: 41
Race commentary: 7f. ALAMODE had subsequent Rockfel winner Promising Run back in third when winning her maiden at Glorious Goodwood and Marcus Tregoning’s filly could be the answer in what looks a tricky race to call. First Victory and Queen’s Trust head a number of other potential players.

Beautiful Morning (3 out of 5 stars): Built on the promise of debut when running out an impressive winner of warm maiden (7f) at York’s Ebor meeting, overcoming obvious greenness (took strong hold). Clearly very promising sort.
    Form: 41
Race commentary: 1m. PROMISING RUN improved another chunk when taking the Rockfel over 7f here 2 weeks ago and is just preferred to Minding, who beat subsequent Prix Marcel Boussac winner Ballydoyle in a Group 1 at the Curragh last month. The supplemented Nathra looks best of the others.

  55. Tom 1 year ago

John, do you have your eye on any 2 year olds for next year like you told us about Golden Horn this year?

  56. JonnyUTD 1 year ago

What a terrible day. 5 bets, 4 losers and 1 winner. Yet somehow ended up 2.5pts in profit?! All thanks to lumping on the 5.10 Exeter winner Bulletproof, was all or nothing in the end. Shame jonnys nap lost, I also went big on that which was why I was a little silly by chasing it all in the exeter 5.10…paid off tho, wont do that again.

Ayr was full with 10/1 winners + in every race basically, with 25/1s + and a 50/1 placing. CRAZY!

On to Chelmsford now I’m home from work.

  57. JonnyUTD 1 year ago

    7.10 Shifting Power for me.

  58. Dariusz 1 year ago

Just to add some spice to the Newmarket 3:10 race:

Gosden: Frankie said Nathra ready for Group 1
LAST weekend’s Arc-winning partnership of John Gosden and Frankie Dettori are out to grab further Group 1 glory on Friday when they team up with Nathra in a competitive, and high quality, ten-runner renewal of the Dubai Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket.

Gosden said: “Nathra has done very well since her last race, we are very pleased with her although we are aware that this represents a huge leap in class. The form of her maiden has worked out nicely.
“Frankie felt that she was ready for a race like this and his judgement is usually fairly good. He didn’t really want to run her in the Prix Marcel Boussac because he felt that the turning track might not suit her – you have to be a bit streetwise at Longchamp.”

Nathra’s nine opponents include two Aidan O’Brien-trained fillies – the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine Minding and the improving Coolmore, who landed the Group 3 Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh last month.
Also in the field are the first and third from last month’s Group 2 Shadwell Rockfel Stakes, Promising Run and Hawksmoor, and the second and third from the Group 2 May Hill Stakes, Marenko and Opal Tiara.
